We’ve pretty much already established that the dry winter air sucks the life out of your skin, hair, and let’s not forget, your lips. Spring, you can show up anytime now. Dry lips are not only uncomfortable, they’re not all that cute either. Which brings me to what I’ve been using to keep dry lips at bay this winter, Burt’s Bees Lip Butters.
My Winter Lip Care
When it comes to my lips, year round I follow the age old acronym KISS (keep it simple…sweetie)! I find a lot of lipsticks to be uncomfortable or sticky on my lips, so I’ll often just use a little liner and top it with lip balm for a creamy feel and a light sheen.
Burt’s Bees Lip Butters
I was first introduced to Burt’s Bees Lip Butters in November and have since been keeping a different one in my makeup stash, and my purse ever since.
My first impressions of the lip butters were great. Each formula has a unique botanical scent, has a creamy light feel on my lips, and they’re incredibly moisturizing. A few months using these lip butters regularly and I can fully attest to their all day hydration – my lips have hardly been dry this winter.
Burt’s Bees Lip Butters are all 100% natural, and made with responsibly sourced Shea Butter. Plus, the easy to open tin is recyclable once it’s empty. They come in four different botanical scents: Lavender & Honey, Rosemary & Lemon, Orange Blossom & Pistachio, and Vanilla & Clove.
Fresh Botanical Scents
When it comes to my favorites, I still love the fresh scents the most. It’s a tie between Lavender & Honey and Rosemary & Lemon for me. I keep one in my purse and one in my makeup stand. They’re both very clean, earthy, and light. Lavender & Honey really pulls out the lavender scent. It’s so fresh and relaxing – I’ve been known to put this on in the middle of a stressful day.
I want my whole house to smell like Rosemary & Lemon. It’s just that good. Light, fresh, botanical – this is the scent I keep in my makeup stand and use daily!
Sweet Botanical Scents
The other two scents are a little bit heavier and sweeter. Orange Blossom & Pistachio smells like an orange Tootsie Roll to me. So every time I use it, it kind of takes me back to childhood just a bit.
Vanilla & Clove is warm and comforting. When I smell it, I catch a little more clove than vanilla. It is a spicy scent that reminds me of the holidays and possibly a warm fuzzy blanket on a snowy day – it’s cozy!
Available at ULTA Beauty
If hydrated soft lips with a light sheen are up your alley, I can’t recommend these lip butters enough. You can grab your own tin of Burt’s Bees Lip Butter at ULTA Beauty. Which scent would you choose?

Can I ask where you bought that white top?! It’s super cute!
Hi Christina! I’m sorry for the delayed response. That top is from LOFT. I bought it over the winter, so unfortunately it is sold out now. 🙁
