Summer vacation is officially over and school is back in session folks. The staple to every student is a bag or backpack to lug around all of their books, computer, and all the other essentials to get through the day. The last two years I have been hauling around a Land’s End shoulder tote to class. This wouldn’t be a problem if I had electronic versions of all my textbooks but I just can’t get down with that. Between my books and computer, things start to get a little heavy on my shoulder, putting unequal strain on my back. A close friend of my mother and her son started up a backpack company last year and my mom got me one of my very own to use in the upcoming semester as a gift (isn’t she so sweet?!). Not only is this backpack nice and compact with lots of compartments inside (I can’t stress enough how much I hate digging around for stuff) but it also has a really good back story. Inspired by the mission of TOMS shoes and personal experience with children in need of backpacks, they created Carri Collection. Their motto “Carri One. Give One.” pretty much says it all. When a backpack is purchased, another is given to a child in need. What a great way to take care of your back to school needs while also helping meet the needs of another!
