Like every other blogger in the world, I’ve been buying blush all day ever day! I’ve also been in Francesca’s, like way too much. This cute little blush top was one of my recent finds. It’s floaty and fun, but I will say, a little sheer. For these photos I wore a bralette under it, the hubby and I were out on a little date night and it felt totally appropriate. But, the modest, preschool mom side of me screams for a cami under it. At the park with my kids, I would feel kind of scandalous walking around with an exposed bralette, but that’s just me. The issue with a cami, is it pokes out under the split in the front of the shirt and just makes it, not as cute to me. So if I’m being totally honest, I’ve had a little bit of a dilemma with the top. I just need to solve this problem with a full coverage bralette or a better cami; one with lace trim one would be cute. I know come summer, I will totally appreciate it’s light fabric.
I also, almost ruined this little blush tank, in the laundry, along with another cute Francesca’s top. The tags very clearly read dry clean only. But being a cotton blend, the stubborn side of me figured I could still hand wash the tops. So I hand washed them and…they shrunk. Insert straight face emoji here. It’s one of those moments that you’re so mad at yourself for being stubborn and trying to cheat the rules. Next time, I’ll just throw them in the dryer with Dryel and call it a day. Although they both shrunk, I am still able to wear them. Unfortunately, for this cute little white top that I will have on the blog Friday; the back shrunk up higher than the lining of the shirt. So basically the only way I can wear it now is with a jacket or sweater of some sort. Lesson learned, follow the tag directions.
I’m also still loving my bag and these new shoes of mine. You can expect to see them in like every post…don’t judge me. I get so many compliments on the bag, plus I like being able to throw my whole life into it, diapers and wipes included. ๐
So what about you? Have you been a laundry rebel recently?

Ah yes…I totally learned that lesson years ago but I never learned about Dryel until last week! I’m excited to try it so that 1) I can wear those darn dry clean clothes that just it in a pile to take to the dry cleaners and 2) I’m not tempted to try to hand wash them one too many times! This pink color is so beautiful. Hopefully you can still get some use out of it!

Another great look, Brooke!
Cute look! I do that all the time with laundry! And I ruined a JCrew Factory blazer. Should have known better, but they get to the point that the dry cleaner nor the Dryell really gets it clean, so I rebel.
Super pretty in blush! I love your whole look! Something you can try which has worked for me in the past…get the shirt damp/wet (not dripping). Then flatten it out, stretching it where it needs to be stretched. Then roll it up, pulling it tight and stretching the fabric as you roll. Once it is all rolled up let it dry that way. It will take a few days. Then unroll and hang it to finish any drying that it may need. It should go back to its original size. Then follow the washing instructions for future cleaning! Ha.

I would totally be the scandalous park mom in this outfit situation! HAHA!! ๐ And I am the worst with drying cleaning, I mean I am great about dropping it off, it just takes me for-ev-er to pick it up. Many laundry mishaps in my house!
That’s a beautiful date outfit! Blush blouse and white jeans are must-haves and also really like the heels as well.

This outfit was made for you! So adorable.
I know what you mean! I have ruined so many pieces of clothing by being stubborn. I’ve learned my lesson too! Glad you are still able to wear that darling blush top! It’s super cute!
It’s the cotton things, Brooke. Since my mom is a material expert, she always says that dry clean only, doesn’t really mean that. But the cotton things do tend to shrink unless you wash them by hand. Because it’s usually the agitation that does it. Although once it’s shrunk once, it shouldn’t shrink more!!

I love the flowiness of this outfit and of course, the colour combo is so romantical.
Blush really does seem to be everywhere these days! Such a cute look!

Oh no, I’m so sorry you’re tops shrunk! Don’t you hate when that happens? That top is Sooooo pretty. I haven’t been to Francesca’s for awhile. I saw their BOGO 60% off sale at the mall the other day, but I kept on walking because I’ve spent enough $ on clothes this season already. Such a cute, cute outfit.
loving this combo and I can totally relate. I am a stubborn dry clean resistant gal. Glad you didnt ruin the top though
I am all aboard the blush train too. I love it paired with the white!

So funny, that top doesn’t look sheer in the least bit. I love it, so pretty. Might have to pick one up…how is the sizing there? I never buy clothes from them because I feel like it runs small? I’m a total laundry rebel, when it says to hand wash I put in the washer and lay flat to dry…
Ha! I love your honesty! I had a little mishap of my own recently. I bought this super cute top from Zara that was some kind of silky blend and had no idea that I should not be using my steamer on it. So I’m standing there steaming away and all of a sudden I start to notice that the red fabric has a bunch of water stains on it. Frustrated with myself, I decided to run cold water over the whole shirt (crazy, right?!) to see if I could get the stains out. Literally, before my eyes the shirt shrunk down to toddler size and that silky fabric turned into something rubber-like. Not ready to give up though, I pulled and stretched that shirt so hard that I managed to get it back to its almost original size and shape, but definitely, major lesson learned ๐
Love the blush on you! So pretty!

I won’t ‘judge’ you for wearing those shoes always – they go everything. That new blush top is so pretty – great look for a date night. Like you I want everything blush but I have put myself on a shopping ban for a month and a half, now. And that tote I love – I want my next tote to be that lazer-cut one from Nordstrom.
What a sweet outfit and I love the shoes and bag too. Okay, so for your shrinking top dilemma. I’m the exact same and HATE to dry clean things so I wash everything on the hand wash cycle (and frequently if something says “dry clean only” it goes right back on the rack). I have shrunk a couple of things and most recently a dress of my daughters. I saw somewhere (probably Pinterest) to put it in a solution of water and fabric softener. I did and then took it out and stretched it as much as I could and it stretched back out. Worth a try. Then iron it and that will help too. Good luck…fingers crossed!!!
I’m so going to try this!!! It makes me so sad because the shirts are brand new! Luckily this blush one is still ok to wear, but the other one looks silly. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Ada!! I need to go on a shopping ban, I’ve been buying things left and right! Oops!!
Oh no!! I have done the very same thing to a silky blend before. It’s so sad!!!
I would say it runs small, because I’m small and everything is normally big on me and this top actually fit decent, haha! It’s one of those tops that sheer in the light, so if the sun hits you right, you can see right through it. On me, the arm holes are also a little long, so my bra or undershirt or whatever I decide to wear is somewhat exposed haha.
Me too!! All aboard the blush train!
Thanks Linda!! Dry clean only is the worst!! I feel like it’s never really clean if I just dry clean it or use Dryel. I still often will use Dryel on jeans that I don’t want to fade, but I feel questionable about their cleanliness, lol.
Good for you Amy!! I have no will power recently, I’m like I need to get control of myself, haha!
Thanks Nina!
Thank you Deena! I’m going to love it when it’s humid and miserable this summer, the less my clothes touch me, the better!
So interesting!! At least I know I can’t shrink it anymore than it already shrank! Luckily this top is still wearable, but my other top, I’m going to have to try some of the tips that have been shared on this post, to fix!
I’ve gotten to the point where I dread laundry because I’ve ruined many things even just with hand washing! I want them to stay pretty and new, lol.
Aw thanks Shelly!
Thanks so much Ela!
See I just need you to be near me so we can go to the park and be scandalous together, haha! At least you actually drop it off, I can hardly make it there. I also have a pile of clothes I’ve never worn, just waiting for them to be tailored…it’s just sad.
You do! I hadn’t been in years, until about a month ago. Since, I’ve shamefully made like three separate shopping trips, lol.
Thanks so much Marta!
Thanks Pamela!
Thanks Biana!
Aw thanks Andrea!! ๐
I’m so going to try this!!! Thanks for sharing Shelbee!
That’s painful!! I’m with you, I just feel like dry cleaning isn’t really cleaning. But I guess I need to just follow the rules, haha!
Thanks Carrie!
Thanks Rachelle!
I do really like Dryel, I use it often! I’ve also used a Woolite version, which works pretty well too!
Great minds think alike!! Thanks Tina!
Oh good! Let me know if you have success…I hope so!
In a textiles class in college, we learned that things shrink in the wash because there is water, heat, and agitation. If you remove one, most pieces won’t shrink, which is why dry cleaning works, since there is no water. At home you can remove heat, so washing on cold with minimal agitation and laying flat to dry usually does the trick. Phew – that was a long explanation! Anyway, love this top and the color is gorgeous on you!
LOVE this look! Blush and white is my go-to color combo.

I really feel like the tag just provides a recommendation as to how to wash my clothes. I shrink things all the time. I have a t-shirt that says dryclean only, seriously, it’s a t-shirt! This is such a cute top, love it with the white jeans!

This blush top is sooo pretty! I am loving the lace detail, as well as how you styled it. That is too bad about the shrinkage. I am glad you are still able to make them work.

That’s what was totally in my head when I made the title, haha! Every time I read it, I sing it!
That is so frustrating your tops shrunk! I can’t stand it when everything says dry clean only, it’s like the manufacturers way of cheating the system and making clothes that wont last.Still this is such a pretty look, I love the scalloped edges of your bag!
