There are many advantages to choosing natural fibers for your wardrobe. A cotton dress will last for many years when taken care of. Plus, it’s breathable and hypoallergenic, so it’s less likely to irritate your skin—something someone with sensitive skin like myself appreciates. Today I’m sharing five dresses that are all 100% cotton and petite-friendly.

100% Cotton Dresses for Petites
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Quince Cotton Poplin Dress
First up, a cotton poplin dress. This 100% organic cotton dress isn’t petite, so the midi length is maxi on my height. It is still short enough for me to wear with flats, and the straps are wide enough to wear with a regular bra – two things I love. This dress is smocked at the top, so it’s stretchy throughout, and the stretch straps will adjust to your proportions. This dress is unlined, but the fabric is thick and not see-through. I’m wearing it here in the color Lipstick Pink but it comes in 11 color options. One thing to keep in mind with cotton poplin is it is prone to wrinkling and a little bit challenging to steam and iron. It’s the nature of the fabric and while I love it as is, for some the wrinkling may be a deal breaker.

Pact Organic Cotton Double Gauze Dress
Double gauze cotton is so comfortable to wear. It is soft with light texture. It washes well and isn’t prone to wrinkling like cotton poplin. This dress from Pact is 100% organic cotton. The dress isn’t petite sizing, so it’s longer on me than intended (but I love the length). I’m wearing this dress in XXS and find it to fit true to size. The waist is stretchy and well-fitted. The only fit issue I found with the dress is that the arm holes are rather large and show my bra. I will wear it with a cami to cover that up.
Petite Midi Dress
When it comes to a well-proportioned petite dress – J.Crew Factory does a great job. This floral dress is a true midi length for petites. The dress doesn’t have stretch in any area (straps, waist, chest), but it’s well-fitted. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS and find it to be true to size overall. The skirt is unlined (but not see through), it has pockets and a side zipper. I also love that the straps are wide enough to wear with a regular bra.

Smocked Midi Dress
This smocked midi dress is another J.Crew Factory find. It is a smocked style that is stretchy throughout the top and has stretchy straps that will adjust to your size. The skirt is fully lined on this dress and it has pockets! It is true to size and very well proportioned for petites. This is another dress you can pull off a regular bra with.

Collared Dress
The last dress is a collared option from J.Crew Factory. This is a cotton poplin option (so it’s prone to wrinkles). The dress has a stretch waist and a vintage-inspired sleeveless cut. The buttons are functional at the top and it has pockets. I love the fit of this dress and the bright color, but I wish it had a lining. I find it to be a little bit sheer so I will be wearing it with a slip. For size reference I find it to be true to size and I am wearing it in Petite XXS.
