Summer is when I feel the absolute best about myself. I mean who doesn’t feel a little prettier with a tan? What I love about summer clothes is they actually make me feel and look a little taller. There’s no bunching at the ankles, no bulky and long layers, just dresses and shorts that give the illusion of height.
Today, I’m focusing on shorts – my absolute favorite thing to wear. Sure, it’s hard to find a pair that flatters you/ fits perfect, but once you do, it’s golden. The pair I wear the most, has been talked about and photographed many times on this blog. Three of the four outfits show these shorts, because in my opinion, they’re the only pair I need.

I love a good button down, and if you’ve read my blog before, you probably know that already. You also probably know I’m obsessed with this gingham top. I wear it just as much as the shorts, (and that’s a lot) it’s perfect, what can I say? I love any print and color of button down with shorts, it’s a classic combination I’ll never tire of.

Flutter Sleeves + Shorts
This post, is one of the more popular posts on my blog. So I’m assuming you guys love this simple outfit as much as I do. My favorite combination is a pair of denim shorts and wedges. I feel like it gives the illusion of legs for days – and girlfriend can use that illusion from time to time. I was excited to see Nordstrom restocked this shirt this year because it’s one of my favorites. Very comfortable, and roomy so I recommend going down one size. I’m personally wearing the petite xxs.

Pom Poms and Riviera Shorts
This pom pom top is one of those things that every time I wear it, someone stops me to tell me how much they like it. It’s just fun! This year it has been brought back and I’m snagging it in white! Riviera shorts are another good one with a little more length and room than my denim shorts. However, they aren’t all made equal. I love this navy pair, but I ordered them in other colors and they didn’t fit the same. They were longer and less flattering.

Patriotic Stripes + Denim
There’s that combination I love so much again, the denim shorts and wedges. This top is only available still in one size, but any blue and white striped tee will do the same thing! My bandana is also just a classic red bandana, there’s were given away on father’s day last year at my church, and I snagged it from my husband.
