If you’ve ever shopped for a truly warm winter coat that actually fits a petite frame, you’ve probably come across The Super Puff from Aritzia. It’s one of the warmest coats I’ve ever tried — no exaggeration. Though it’s definitely an investment, the performance and thoughtful details make it worth every penny.

In today’s post, I’m reviewing four different Aritzia Super Puff lengths and styles — all shown on my 4’10” petite frame in size XXS — to help you decide which one is right for you.

Aritzia Super Puff Petite Review: Four Styles Tried and Compared

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Why I Love The Super Puff

All four styles in this review share the same standout features:

  • Warmth rating: down to -40°F, depending on the style, but all are rated for negative temps
  • Many lengths available: XtraShorty, Shorty, Original, Mid, Long
  • Technical details: hand covers, stretch-warm pockets, and adjustable drawcords at the hem and hood for a snug fit
  • Material: I’m wearing the CliMATTE finish, which is water-repellent and wind-resistant. Aritzia also offers an Puff₂O version that’s fully waterproof.
  • Fit: In my true size XXS, there’s enough room to layer comfortably without feeling bulky.

The Super Puff Shorty

The Super Puff Shorty hits right at my hip. Even though it’s cropped, it’s incredibly warm. This one is great for wearing with a snowsuit or jeans. It’s also nice for travel if you don’t want to bring a long bulky coat. This coat has a -4°F warmth rating.

The Super Puff Mid

This was my first full-length Super Puff purchase, and it impressed me with how cozy and comfortable it is. The Mid comes to just above my knee, offering great coverage for freezing days. It doesn’t have much waist shaping, but I still don’t feel swallowed by it — this one would have been my top pick for overall comfort and warmth – until I tried the Supersnug. This coat has a -22° F warmth rating.

The Supersnug Mid

This one is new favorite. After many readers recommended it, I finally tried the Supersnug Mid this year — and I can see why it’s so popular. It has a zip closure instead of snaps, a cinched waist for subtle shaping, and hits right at my knees. It’s snug and cozy (with room to layer) and I love the subtle shape it gives. It has a -22°F warmth rating.

The Supersnug Long

At readers’ request, I also tried the Supersnug Long. It’s definitely long on me— this one hits just above my winter boots for head-to-toe warmth. I have to laugh that it only comes a little below the model’s knees – but basically engulfs my whole body. However, I think if you live somewhere with extreme cold and need full coverage, the cinched waist helps bring balance to this head-to-toe coat. This is the warmest coat in the line up with a -40°F warmth rating.

Quince vs. Aritzia Super Puff: A Petite Comparison

If you’re looking for a less expensive alternative, Quince makes a similar puffer coat that’s nearly identical in design and performance. Both feature water-resistant finishes, responsibly sourced down, cinching, and comparable insulation warmth.

The main differences:

  • Sizing: Quince starts at XS, while Aritzia offers XXS — a big plus for petites under 5′.
  • Lengths: Quince’s coats are nearly identical to the Shorty, Original, and Long Super Puff but they don’t currently offer a true mid-length option or a cinched waist option.
  • Price: Quince’s version is more affordable, making it a great choice if you love the Super Puff look and performance but want to save.

I highly recommend The Super Puff or the very comprable Responsible Down Puffer from Quince. I am planning a larger post with coats in different price points and styles, but The Super Puff is top of my list, so I wanted to dedicate a post to it and the similar option at Quince. Stay tuned for more petite puffer coats and parkas.
