4 Petite Dresses for Holiday Parties

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

I’m wearing Petite XS, and it fits true to size with a comfortable, slightly roomy shape that skims the body nicely. The length hits just above the knee, flattering for petites without feeling too short. I love pairing it with black tights and heels for a clean, classic holiday look.

Gap Mini Sweater Dress

If you want something cozy but still polished, the Gap Mini Sweater Dress is a good one. The soft sweater knit keeps you warm, while the silhouette gives a nice structured shape — not too tight, not too loose.

It’s a true above-the-knee fit for petites and runs true to size (I’m wearing Petite XS). The fit through the shoulders and sleeves is spot on, and the knit has a comfortable stretch. I styled it with a red scarf and knee-high boots, which balance the shorter length perfectly.

Old Navy Satin Flare Sleeve Dress

In Petite XS, it fits me well through the body and sleeves. It’s unlined, so I layer it over a slip to prevent static cling (especially if you’re wearing tights). The flare sleeves add a fun, festive touch while keeping the overall look simple and timeless.

Quince Silk Skirt + Walmart Embellished Sweater

In this outfit I paired the washable silk skirt from Quince with an embellished sweater from Walmart for a classic, feminine outfit that still feels festive.

The Quince Silk Skirt fits beautifully in size XS. Because it’s unforgiving silk, I layer shaping shorts underneath (great for tucking your top into) and then a slip on top so the skirt doesn’t cling.

The sweater is slightly oversized but works nicely for a relaxed, cozy look. I did try the matching skirt that goes with it, but it ran too big overall (though the length was petite-friendly).
