Somewhere in the midst of running to soccer games and trying not to burn rushed family dinners, it magically turned into cool and crisp fall outside. It happened so quick, I almost didn’t notice. Until, the day I stepped outside fully underdressed – you better believe I noticed. #toocoldforme
I’m a cold natured person, even in the middle of summer, so I’m all for having a good arsenal of warm and cozy layers. Being cold natured, I’m not a big fan of the colder weather, but I do love being able to bring some of my favorites out of my closet. I have three things that I can honestly say I wear at least a few times a week now that the weather has cooled down: my cozy fleece, my J. Crew parka and my J.Crew sweater blazer.
The Coziest Fleece Around
This fleece was something I bought from the Nordstrom sale this year after hearing all of the rave reviews. It’s pricey and there are several knock off versions of it out there, but nothing beats the warmth and coziness of this coat! My kitten especially loves to snuggle with this one so the boys and I call it the momma kitty coat. This pullover is so warm and has kept me nice and toasty with the chilly night-time temps!
The Winter Coat
I admittedly wore this coat to soccer this weekend. It was 40 degrees and I felt it was warranted, but there were some strange looks. I also wore it to a cook out later that evening. When I brought it out of the car after the sun went down, someone said, “I mean great day, need me to start up the wood stove?!” I’m extra like that, and always really cold, not ashamed.
J. Crew Sweater Blazer
But let’s get on to what this post is really about, the J.Crew Sweater Blazer. The blazer is a little more fall appropriate that my stadium coat. It’s nice and thick without being too much. If you’ve read my blog at all, you know how much I love this blazer and how much I’ve worn it (here, here and here).
If you’re new around here, I’ll give you the low down on why this sweater blazer is a great investment. I’ve had mine I think going on three years now, and it still looks just as good as the first day I wore it, the quality can’t be beat!
I also own this blazer in red, but I think the camel is my all time favorite – it goes with everything! From white jeans as seen here, to regular blue jeans, black jeans, skirts, and pants! It’s such a versatile piece.

The sleeves are the slightest bit cropped which I love for showing off the sleeve underneath! To me it’s one of those little details that can make an outfit more fun. If you’re curious about size, I’m wearing a regular xxs and I love the fit!
For those who have already read my praises of this blazer before, thanks for reading again! Do you have a closet favorite that you’re excited about pulling out for the colder weather?
