This weekend was everything I had hoped it would be. Lots of time with family, lots of food and lots of shopping! I successfully completed nearly all of my Christmas shopping, and even treated myself to a few things. My 30th birthday is in just a couple of weeks, so I had to treat myself, right?! My favorite buys are this cardigan, these earrings, and I’m really excited to try these velvet pants (that were totally free to me with my Gap rewards!)
I even snagged a couple of pics with this cutie, not an easy task.
We went out and cut down our tree, decorated for Christmas and started falling right into the holiday season. This is such a happy time of year! (I’ll share more about our tree soon!) One thing I haven’t done in years is send out holiday cards. Yes, I know! I think the last time I sent out a holiday card, Maddox was a baby, if I even did that?! So shameful. Although I’m sure my family and friends have grown used to me not sending cards, I decided it was time to be polite and actually return their holiday card gestures and send out a few of my own.
Happy Hand Lettered Christmas Card
You may remember this post, detailing the escapades of our annual family photos. Although we haven’t always sent out cards, we’ve always tried to take pictures! Even though they aren’t perfect, they’re fun and they’re us. Over Thanksgiving dinner, we dished over not only extra helpings of stuffing, but also over our Basic Invite samples.
Kraft Windows Photo Holiday Card
I ordered six different samples to pick a favorite from Basic Invite, and honestly, I pretty much love them all! Keep reading to see if you can spot the one I picked.

Dotty Cheers Foil Holiday Card
This one may or may not be my favorite! It’s not “the one” but it had me laughing! All jokes aside, the lettering is gold foil and really a beautiful card.
So which one is your favorite?! I personally have chosen the Kraft Windows Photo Holiday Card, with a timeline back. It gives the opportunity to include lots of photos! The timeline option on the back is available on any of the cards, for a little extra. Basic Invite gives so many options for customization, from colors to fonts and my order arrived way earlier than quoted. I also have to note the paper, because it’s beautiful. The paper is a coated signature matte, which I would describe as nice and heavy with a smooth velvety touch. I really love them and am excited to actually send some out this year!
Do you love sending out holiday cards?
