Striped Maternity Fashion & Link-Up Pt 2

Maternity fashion is tough, especially at the very end. I haven’t wanted to buy anything new, since just a few weeks of wear isn’t worth it to me, so today’s post is made up several things I had in my closet. In an attempt to brighten my blah wardrobe feelings lately, I took to shopping my closet the other day. As I struggled to pull pants past my thighs and laughed at my belly hanging out of the bottom of shirts, I did find a couple items that fit and of course prompted a mirror dance session. I know I can’t be the only one who likes to break it down in front of the mirror when I like my outfit, right? This dress was one of the lucky items that still fit me, but I wouldn’t say it slipped right on; more like struggled to roll it on like a sausage casing and then had my husband zip my shoes. Oh, third tri, you aren’t too glamourous.

Now, just because I’m not buying maternity clothes at the moment, doesn’t mean I’m not shopping. You just can’t stop a true shopper at heart and when I saw the 60% off clearance at Piperlime roll through my email, I just had to check it out. As I scrolled through skirts and blouses I envisioned being able to wear them this spring, sans baby bump and warmer temps. So like a happy little girl, I did snag a few things on an amazing deal. I took a chance and ordered my typical size, so I’m obviously being optimistic I’ll bounce back quickly, haha. I hope that wasn’t a huge mistake, but only time will tell. You just never know with pregnancy, with my first, I bounced back pretty quickly, but I’ve heard the second time around it’s harder, so I’m trying to stay realistic. However, when it comes to me, there is no greater motivation than something new and fabulous to wear, so hopefully the purchases will be screaming from the closet, “get your butt moving!”
