Despite our always changing lives, over the years each of us have developed a few tried and true routines that help maintain our health and beauty. What’s better than one girl’s routine? two girl’s routines! So, by process of collaborate and eliminate, we have come up with a master list of daily, weekly and monthly rituals that, we agree, make us stronger and more beautiful!
Daily:
- Drink water, lots of it! Besides a nice cup of coffee most days, we both don’t drink anything other than water. Water is so vital to your wellbeing; if you’re well hydrated, you will feel better and look better!
- Eat, lots of healthy food! Again, no one is perfect, but most days we focus on shaping most of our meals around fruits, veggies and lean proteins!
- Get up and stretch. Stretching is so beneficial to your health. Especially as we age and our daily routines get more hectic (ahem, carrying a baby here and there). It’s important that we stay flexible and limber to avoid injury. You can find some of our favorite stretches here.
- Dress up. No, we don’t mean full blown dresses and high heels, but the days we put a little effort into our outfits, the better we feel. Even if it’s just a simple t-shirt and a great necklace or scarf, that extra effort is worth it.
- Clean Up. We are, wash your hair every day kind of girls. So, we like to use a gentle restorative shampoo and conditioner like, Pantene Pro-V’s Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner, to replenish, hydrate and restore our hair without weighing it down. What we love about Pantene is that it not only smells great, it makes for a great, bouncy blow out!
- Make-Up. Neither one of us spends a ton of time in front of the mirror in the morning, maybe 30 minutes max, so our make-up routines are quick and only use a few products. Our makeup routine goes a little something like this:

- Start with foundation, applied with a blending sponge for quick and seamless application. Sometimes we use a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer instead of full coverage foundation.
- Then, highlight and contour! Apply bronzer to the hollow of the cheeks and sides of the nose. Swipe a highlight power under the eyes, across the bridge of the nose and on the cupid’s bow. Finish with a pretty blush on the apples of the cheeks.
- Fill in and shape brows with a brow powder.
- Line the top of the lash line with a gel liner for lasting wear.
- Top off lashes with mascara.
- Finish with a lip balm.
Weekly:
- Plan. At the beginning of each week we like to sit down and come up with a game plan for the week ahead. This can include errands that need to be completed, meals for the week or even friends that need a phone call. We both agreed that weekly to-do lists keep us organized and more efficient.
- Work Out. We aim to workout at least three days a week to maintain our health. But, even if we only fit in one formal weight training workout a week and casual activity a few days a week, like a nice walk, we’re happy.
- Deep Condition. For those times when our hair gets a little dry or frizzy, we like to apply an overnight conditioner. The beauty of Pantene Pro-V’s Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner is that it makes a great overnight hydrating treatment. We just rub a little though our hair, braid it up and then shampoo and condition as usual in the morning.
- Laundry. This may seem like a silly thing to put on a master list, but the laundry is important to the dress up part on our daily list. Having laundry days each week that include ironing and everything being put away in its place, makes for fast outfit assembly on a busy morning.
- Grocery Shop. We all grocery shop each week, or maybe every other week, but we thought it was important to mention, because a well thought out grocery trip, makes for a house full of healthy choices. We both like to take our weekly meal plans and create a list complete with recipe ingredients and everyday lunches and snacks. This helps us stay on budget and on point with our diet.

Monthly:
- Set Goals. Goal setting is a powerful thing. We both like to refocus ourselves each month with new goals. They aren’t necessarily life changing, sometimes they are as simple as go to bed earlier or read more books, but a good goal, creates focus.
- Reorganize. Each month we go through our closets and cabinets and re-organize and clean. Ok, maybe not every month, but most months. Keeping our closets streamlined help with those weekly laundry days and daily dress ups as well as gives us a good idea of what we already have, so we don’t overspend on things we don’t need.
- Evaluate last month’s goals. Taking a look back allows us to see if we achieved the goals we set and how we felt about them. Maybe we read more, but didn’t really enjoy the books we read, so we add find new books to the list.

Since no one is perfect, we’re not going to lie to you and say we stick to this routine every day, week or month, but as long as we’re trying, that’s a step in the right direction! Do you share any of the same routines and rituals?
