Love them or hate them, Barrel Jeans continue to be a trendy denim style for the summer of 2025. In case you’re wondering if they’re petite-friendly, in today’s post, I’m styling them four ways.

Petite-Friendly Barrel Jeans
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Madewell Pieced Barrel Jeans
I had decided barrel jeans weren’t for me until I tried the Pieced Barrel Jeans from Madewell. It was all about the proportions and overall shape of the jeans for me. The Pieced Barrel Jeans have a high rise, and a slim barrel leg. I tried a few styles of barrel jeans before landing on this pair. Some were too low, too long, or too loose – this pair felt right. For me, the key was finding a pair that hit at my ankles and also had a high rise. If the rise was too low it made me look extra wide. In petite, these jeans have a 25″ inseam, so if you’re similar to me with a 25″ inseam to your ankle bone, they should have a similar fit for you. I’m sharing them in white and a light wash denim in this post.
These jeans are 100% cotton and are worn loose and low-slung on the model. They don’t fit my shape that way, and I prefer to wear them with a close fit rather than a loose one.
How I’m Wearing Barrel Jeans
Since these jeans have a unique leg shape, I find they look the best on me with slim nude sandals. It keeps them from looking heavier at my feet. I can also wear them with heeled sandals in nude, and ballet flats because ballet flats show the top of the foot. They didn’t work well with sneakers because they’re close to the top of my foot and didn’t look good with anything that had a thick or chunky strap. For that reason I mostly kept my shoes the same in the outfits below, but I tried to show variation with the shape of the tops, from slim, tucked in styles to cropped flowy tops! I’m still getting used to wearing this style myself, but in case you’re interested in trying them too, here are four ways I’m wearing barrel jeans.
