All three fit well on my 4’10” frame and pair easily with sandals or sneakers.

3 Petite-Friendly T-Shirt Dresses in Different Lengths and Fits
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

What I Like
This dress is a great example of how a simple t-shirt dress can feel a little more polished. The ruched details create shape through the body, making it easy to dress up with jewelry and sandals for dinner or a summer event.
I also love the color and the fact that it’s made from 100% cotton, which keeps it comfortable for warm weather.
Fit Notes for Petites
I’m wearing this dress in Petite XXS, my usual size. The fit is slim and follows the body closely. I could have comfortably sized up for a little extra room through the hips and waist.
It’s also worth noting that this dress runs short. If you prefer additional length, I would recommend trying the standard sizing rather than petite. The petite version works for me, but it is definitely one of the shorter dresses in my closet.

What I Like
This dress is the complete opposite of the first option. Instead of a fitted silhouette, it has an easy relaxed fit that feels incredibly comfortable to wear.
The textured fabric is what really stands out to me. It’s thicker and more substantial than most t-shirt dresses, which helps it drape nicely without clinging. It feels forgiving through the body and maintains its shape well throughout the day.
Fit Notes for Petites
I’m wearing the dress in XXS and find it oversized. The relaxed fit doesn’t cling to my hips, which is something I really appreciate in casual dresses.
Because of the thicker fabric and comfortable fit, I think this would be an excellent travel dress. It’s the kind of piece you can wear for a long day of sightseeing, a road trip, or a travel day while still looking put together.

I actually purchased this dress after a follower recommended it to me. We’re very similar in size, and she showed me how well the standard length works on a petite frame.

I’m wearing the dress in XS and sized up from what I would typically choose, per my friend’s recommendation. After trying it on, I completely agree with that recommendation.
Sizing up gives the dress a more relaxed fit through the hips so it doesn’t cling. The standard length reads as a maxi length on my 4’10” frame, which I actually like. If you’d prefer a shorter fit, J.Crew Factory also offers a petite version.
