What an honor it was to be featured by Yvonne of Dear Sunny Vintage last week in her tour through blogland. When she emailed us about this fun opportunity to share our favorite bloggers and meet new bloggers, we couldn’t pass it up! So, now it is our turn to talk a little about ourselves and introduce you to some of our favorites!
1) What are we working on? We have a couple of fun collaborations with other bloggers and media sites that we’re pretty excited about. Our main focus right now is keeping things low key going into the holidays so we can spend lots of time with family and friends.
2) How does our work differ from others in it’s genre? Honestly, not a lot. There are countless blogs that do an amazing job entertaining and inspiring fabulous fashion. If we could say one thing was a little different about us, it would be our mix of credentials that we bring to the health aspect of our blog.
3) Why do we write/create what we do? For several reasons. One, we write about fashion and beauty because we love it! Just like browsing the mall with a couple of girlfriends, sharing outfits and reading other fashion blogs is so much fun. The health side of our blog we wanted to share to be the gentle side of health and fitness. So much of what you come across on the internet is extreme and confusing; from workouts to cleanses and strict diets. We wanted to be a free resource that showed that you can be healthy by making small changes. Working out just a few days a week, 30 minutes at a time is great and making a meal your entire family will love with simple healthy ingredients is easy!
4) How does our writing/creating process work? We sit down each month and come up with an editorial calendar for our blog. We try to hit on each subject of our blog (fitness, nutrition, fashion) once a week and throw in other fun posts as they come to us. We do monthly photo shoots for all of our outfit posts, this is partly because neither of us lives in an area that is great for photos and partly because we don’t dress to the nines every single day. So, we choose a fun new place to go each month for our pictures and snap away for a couple hours! We also find that planning in advance helps us with our writing because we’re never rushed and just throwing a post in.
Now, on to just a few fabulous ladies that we love reading everyday.
I’m 27 years old and live in Maine with my amazing husband, who I met in 2007 and married last summer. I was inspired to start LOVE, JOANNA in the fall of 2013 as a way to connect with others who share the same interests as me- particularly fashion. My other passions are anything related to Golden Age of Hollywood, spending every spare second with my nose in a book, obsessing over my two adorable cats, and expanding my never ending collection of high heels.
Although I’m new to the blogging world, I’m really enjoying it and have met so many inspiring women. It’s nice to have a place to call my own, and my site is a true reflection of my life and interests.
Without dating myself, I have dabbled in and out of blogging since my sophomore year at James Madison University… over ten years ago! While my topics have varied, my purpose hasn’t: I blog because I love to write, share and document my life.
To clarify a common misconception, my name is Susan. My blog is named after my two cats and my border collie, Chloe. While I adore my fur babies, I’m not a crazy cat lady writing about her felines. At least not every single day!
2 cats & chloe is a lifestyle blog that focuses on clean eating, adventures, and all things that glitter. I love good wine, wonderful celebrations, spectacular views and cute clothes. Stop in and say hi! I love this wonderful, creative blogging community and cannot wait to meet you!
I do deClaire started as a result of needing a creative outlet for myself after having my daughter (that would be Claire, I’m Laura. Yes, I know that is confusing for some if you just read my blog title. I don’t judge if you accidentally call me Claire though. I obviously love the name). I had been reading quite a few blogs up till that point and decided nothing was really holding me back from starting my own.
A year and a half later I am shocked by how much I’ve learned, how many people I’ve met, and how much I still love blogging. I enjoy sharing easy recipes, sharing parts of my life, remixing my clothes and trying to stay on budget as much as possible and I am excited for what’s to come!
Thank you so much to Joanna, Susan and Laura for participating with us. Be sure to stop by their blogs and say hello!
