Blue is one of the easiest colors to build a work wardrobe around. It’s timeless, versatile, and pairs beautifully with other neutrals, making it simple to create polished outfits throughout the year. Today I’m sharing three business casual outfit ideas featuring petite-friendly pieces that fit well and can easily become staples in a work wardrobe.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Outfit 1: Heather Oatmeal Cashmere Set + Navy Wide Leg Trousers

For the first outfit, I paired Quince’s cotton cashmere boatneck tank with the matching cardigan in Heather Oatmeal and finished the look with Ann Taylor’s Perfect Wide Leg Pants in navy.

The cotton cashmere pieces from Quince are some of my favorite wardrobe staples. The boatneck tank has a flattering neckline that’s easy to wear on its own or layered under a cardigan or blazer. The matching cardigan fits me well in XS and is lightweight enough for year-round layering. I do cuff the sleeves for a better fit on my petite frame, but otherwise it’s true to size and incredibly versatile.

The navy trousers are Ann Taylor’s Perfect Wide Leg Pants, one of the best work pants I’ve found for petites. I wear them in Curvy Petite 00, which provides a much better fit through my hips and waist than the regular fit. They measure approximately a 10″ rise with a 28.5″ inseam, creating a full-length silhouette that’s ideal with a low heel. The fabric has enough structure to look polished while remaining comfortable enough to wear throughout the workday.

Outfit 2: Printed Ponte Dress from Boden

This stretch ponte dress from Boden is comfortable, and the print is beautiful – perfect for transitioning into fall.

I’m wearing it in Petite 0, and I’d say it fits true to size. I love it with a low heel, but you can also wear it with flats for more comfort. This dress resists wrinkles, is thick and soft, and makes a statement!

Outfit 3: Satin Top + LOFT Crepe Trousers

For the final outfit, I combined a satin top from Aritzia with LOFT’s Versa Palazzo Pants for an elevated business casual look.

The satin top has a beautiful drape that works well tucked into trousers or skirts. It runs large, and although I’m wearing an XXS, I could comfortably size down if a smaller size were available.

The LOFT crepe trousers are a wide palazzo style with a very generous wide leg. They have a 28″ inseam in petite sizing. The lightweight crepe fabric drapes beautifully and is wrinkle resistant.
