Burgundy Outfits for Work

Burgundy is a gorgeous year-round color, but is especially relevant in late summer and early fall. In today’s post, I’ve put together four petite-friendly outfits you can wear to work with touches of burgundy.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Crepe Skirt

This crepe skirt is from Quince. Most of my crepe pieces are made of polyester, but this skirt is made of viscose. It still drapes nicely, but is more lightweight than some of the other crepe pieces in my closet. I’m wearing the skirt in XS, and it fits me well overall, but if you’re able to a size down would be a better fit. I love the a-line shape and swing of this skirt, but it is sheer, so I recommend a slip with it.

Striped Button Down

I first shared this striped button-down from LOFT in my teacher’s outfits series last summer. I saw it in a new arrivals sneak preview but I can’t currently find it online – so here’s to hoping it pops back up. I’ve linked a similar one for now. I styled this button down with a pair of thick ponte pants that could for work for anyone who likes to dress comfortably at work, including teachers. The pants are a pull-on style from LOFT that feels like a pair of leggings, but is thick and polished enough for work.

Stretch Dress

Speaking of comfort, this dress is so soft and comfortable. Yet, it’s beautiful and elegant! I love the shape and the swing, and it’s a great addition to your work wardrobe. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS/00 and find it to fit true to size. The jersey fabric tends to cling, so you may want to pair it with shapewear/a slip.

Petal Sleeve Top

I found this petal sleeve top on Amazon. It’s a budget-friendly option that blends well with pants and skirts for work. I’m wearing it in XS and find it to fit true to size. I chose a dusty rose color, which, although it isn’t burgundy, still blends nicely with these outfits.
