I’m stepping out of my usual style of posts to fulfill a request I get often – date night outfit ideas! In this post, I have four summer date night options for petites that are perfect for occasions where you want to wow.

Summer Date Night Outfit Ideas
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
A Little Black Dress
The classic, a little black dress. This LOFT dress is a mini-length for petites. It’s relatively short, so if you would like a little extra length, I think the regular sizing would still be above the knee. The dress is stretchy and very comfortable with a functional wrap at the waist. The straps are thin so this dress is best worn with a strapless bra.
A Cream Crochet Skirt
A crochet skirt that looks way more expensive than it is. This Target skirt is fully lined, beatifully detailed with a cream crochet overlay and has a stretch waist. Online this skirt looks yellow, but it’s cream in person. I’m wearing in XS and while it fits true to size for the most part, it is a little roomy at my waist. I paired it with a sweetheart sweater tank top, also from Target. The tank top is cropped, tucking into the skirt 2″ and has a slim ribbed fit.

A Matching Crochet Set
A crochet set that isn’t just great for a summer date, but a vacation too. This set fits true to size. I’m wearing both pieces in XXS. It is thick and warm so I wouldn’t choose it for a very hot weather summer date. The skirt is fully lined with a stretch drawstring waist and the top is unlined. The top is shown cropped on the model, it hits me across the hips. You can wear it untucked with the skirt, but it was landing at my widest part, and I looked a little blocky with the top untucked.
A Skort and Peplum Top
A floral linen skort and a corset-style peplum top. The skort I’m wearing in this outfit is from Abercrombie. The skort is snug across the hips on me in XXS, so I tried a curve love style, which ended up being too big. So my overall recommendation would be a size up instead. The print I’m wearing is sold out but there are other prints available. I paired it with a peplum top from Artizia. The top has a full zip back closer (which can be a little tricky to close) and slim tailored fit. I’m wearing the top in XXS.
