In this portion of my outfits for teachers series, I’ve created four ideas that fit a business casual dress code, but are still comfortable and functional for teachers.

Business Casual Outfits for Teachers
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Navy Ponte Straight Pants
Ponte pants are so comfortableare like wearing a pair of leggings. Ponte is stretchy, but thicker, so while it’s as comfortable as leggings, it’s more polished. These straight pants from LOFT have a slim straight fit and a high rise. They’re a pull-on style with a stetch waistband and side zipper pockets. They’re true to size, but have a snug fit that some people may feel uncomfortable wearing with a tucked-in top. If that’s you, you can recreate this outfit with the same base but add a long layer like this sweater blazer from Quince! It’s long enough to cover your backside, comfortable and polished. I paired the pants with a tailored button up top from J.Crew Factory and comfortable supportive loafers from Sam Edelman.

Forest Green Pants
The pants in this outfit are the Kallie Pants from J.Crew Factory. They’re a classic straight style with a high rise and slim straight leg. I can sometimes go up and down in sizing at J.Crew/Factory, but this pair is true to size. For reference, I wear them in Petite 00. In petite, they have a 25″ inseam and a 10″ rise. The top is a generous fit, but tucks in well. If you’re able to, I recommend a size down for the best fit. For reference, I’m wearing the top here in XXS.

Hayden Pants
The Hayden Pants from Banana Republic Factory have a 29″ inseam, so they’re a touch too long for me with a pair of flats. I styled them with low block heels, which may or may not be practical for a teacher, but the pants are so great otherwise, I wanted to share them with you. The pants are a pull-on style with a comfortable stretch waistband and a high 10″ rise. They’re lined and silky on the inside, and the fabric is drapey and lightweight. They’re a pair I would hem if you want to wear them with flats because they’re otherwise so good.

Wide-Leg Ponte Pants
The pants in this outfit are another soft and stretchy ponte style that feel like you’re wearing your favorite pair of leggings. The Palmer Wide Leg Pants from LOFT have a 9.5″ rise and a 27″ inseam in petite. They have a button and zipper closure with two patch pockets on the front. They get winning points from me for teachers because they’re so darn comfortable and easy to move in. They’re true to size, I wear them in Petite 00. I styled them here with a classic white button down and a herringbone blazer. The blazer is a J.Crew Factory find that is well proportioned for petites and is a weight and texture that will take you into the fall!
