Levi’s jeans are a classic, and although most of their styles aren’t offered in petite sizing, they do offer different inseam options that can sometimes work well on a petite frame. Since inseam is only one part of finding jeans that fit well when you’re petite, I wanted to try a few different Levi’s styles and show how they fit on me at 4’10”.

In today’s post, I’m sharing four different styles. Two are made from my personal favorite—100% cotton denim with no stretch—and two are lightweight, high-stretch options. I can easily wear two of these pairs with flats, while the other two are longer and work best for me with heels.

For reference, I’m 4’10” with a 25” ankle inseam and a 27.5- 28″ full-length inseam. I typically wear a size 24 in jeans, but my size varies a little between these four styles based on the fit and fabric.

Levi’s Low Loose Jeans

Size Worn: 24 x 30” in Rescued City Wash
Rise: 9 1/8”
Inseam: 30”
Fabric: 100% cotton, no stretch
Fit: True to size

The Low Loose Jeans are the most relaxed pair in this roundup. Although Levi’s calls them a low-rise style, the 9 1/8” rise fits more like a mid rise on my petite frame.

I’m wearing my true size, 24, and they have a snug fit through my hips with a loose, relaxed leg. I previously tried these in a size down and found them to be too snug, so I prefer my true size for the intended relaxed fit.

These are also one of the two 100% cotton options in this post, which is my favorite type of denim. They’re thick and structured with no stretch and will relax a little with wear.

The downside for petites is the length. Inseam options start at 30”, which is quite long on my 4’10” frame. I need to wear these with a significant heel to keep them off the ground. If you like the look of longer, relaxed wide-leg jeans with heels, though, I love the shape of this pair.

Levi’s 501 ’90s Ankle Jeans

Size Worn: 23 x 27” in Sweetest Taboo Wash
Rise: 9.5”
Inseam: 27”
Fabric: 100% cotton, no stretch
Fit: I size down

The 501 ’90s Ankle Jeans are my favorite pair in this roundup. They have that classic Levi’s denim feel I love along with a relaxed straight-leg fit.

The 9.5” rise is another one that fits like a mid rise on my petite frame. I wear these in a 23, sizing down from my typical size 24 for the best fit. Since they’re made from 100% cotton with no stretch, they start out structured but relax and loosen with wear.

The 27” inseam is also a great length for me. Although they’re technically an ankle style, they fit closer to a full-length straight jean on my 4’10” frame, and I can easily wear them with flats.

If you also prefer thick, structured denim over lightweight stretch denim, these would be my top pick of the four. They have a classic shape, hold up well, and are easy to wear with everything from sneakers and flats to boots.

Levi’s 725 Kick Boot Jeans

Size Worn: 25 in Power Move Wash
Rise: 10 1/4”
Inseam: 27”
Fabric: Stretch denim
Fit: I size up

The 725 Kick Boot Jeans are quite different from the first two pairs. Instead of thick, rigid cotton denim, these are lightweight and very stretchy.

They have a high 10 1/4” rise and a slim fit through the hips and thighs before kicking out slightly at the bottom. I found them to be a little snug across my hips, so I sized up to a 25 for a more comfortable fit.

The 27” inseam is technically cropped, but on my 4’10” frame, it comes across as a full-length bootcut. I can wear them comfortably with flats without needing any alterations.

These aren’t my top pick of the four simply because I personally prefer jeans that are thicker and have more hold. However, denim is very much about personal preference. If you love soft, thin, stretchy jeans, this may be the pair for you. They’re comfortable from the start and give you plenty of stretch for moving around throughout the day.

Levi’s 726 High Rise Flare Jeans

Size Worn: 25 x 30” in Eternal Indigo
Rise: 10 1/4”
Inseam: 30”
Fabric: Stretch denim
Fit: I size up

The 726 High Rise Flare Jeans are another high-stretch, lightweight option, but this pair gives you a much more dramatic flare shape.

They have the same 10 1/4” high rise as the 725 Kick Boot Jeans, along with a fitted shape through the hips and thighs before opening into the flare. I also sized up to a 25 in this pair.

I really love the shape these jeans give, especially when they’re paired with heels. The combination of the high rise, fitted upper leg, flare, and longer hemline gives the illusion of longer legs on my petite frame.

The inseam options start at 30”, so these aren’t a pair I can wear with flats at 4’10”. I need to add a heel to make the length work.

Like the 725 jeans, these are very stretchy and lightweight. While I prefer jeans with a little more thickness and hold, if high-stretch denim is what you find most comfortable, you may love these. They give you the flare shape without the stiffness you would get from a more rigid denim.

Comparing the Four Levi’s Styles

What I like about this group is that it shows how differently Levi’s jeans can fit on a petite frame, even without true petite sizing.

If you’re looking for 100% cotton denim, the 501 ’90s Ankle and Low Loose Jeans are my picks. The 501 ’90s Ankle is my favorite overall because I love the relaxed straight fit and the 27” inseam works for me with flats. The Low Loose Jeans have a wider, more relaxed silhouette, but the 30” inseam means I need to wear them with heels.

If you prefer soft, stretchy denim, the 725 Kick Boot and 726 High Rise Flare Jeans are worth a look. The 725 gives you a subtle bootcut shape with a petite-friendly 27” inseam, while the 726 has a longer, more dramatic flare that I think looks best with heels.

Of the four, the 501 ’90s Ankle Jeans are my personal favorite, but your best pair will really depend on whether you prefer structured or stretchy denim and the silhouette you’re looking for.

Even though Levi’s doesn’t offer traditional petite sizing in these styles, having multiple inseam options makes some of their jeans worth trying if you’re petite. Just keep in mind that the rise and overall proportions can fit differently on a shorter frame—which is why I always like to share the measurements along with how each pair actually fits on me at 4’10”.
