If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I’m a longtime fan of the Bella jeans from Quince. I recently put them through a full wash and wear test, so when they released a new rigid version, I was immediately excited to try them.

The Bella Rigid Straight Jeans are made from 100% cotton (with a portion sourced from regenerative cotton), giving them that classic, structured denim feel. In this post, I’m sharing how they fit, how they compare to the original Bella jeans, and whether they’re a good option for petites.

Quince Bella Rigid Straight Jeans Review (Petite-Friendly Fit + Wash Test)

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

First Impressions & Fit

At first try, my usual size 24 felt slightly snug, which is typical for rigid denim. After wearing them for a bit, they relaxed just enough to feel comfortable—without losing their shape or becoming baggy.

I also tried sizing up for comparison, and that pair felt too loose overall, so I would recommend sticking with your true size.

The jeans come in both a 26″ and 28″ inseam. You may know I sometimes go for 28″ in a wide/relaxed leg, but a slim straight leg like this one, I go for 26″.

Fabric & Feel (Rigid Denim vs Stretch)

These jeans are made from 100% cotton, so they have that classic “hold you in” feel that rigid denim is known for.

  • Structured, holds shape well
  • Doesn’t stretch out throughout the day
  • Compared to the Bella Straight, the Rigid Jeans are thicker but have the same overall cut.

If you’re used to stretch denim, these may feel a little firm at first—but they break in nicely with wear.

Wash Test Results

I washed these in cold water and tumbled them on low.

  • No significant shrinkage
  • Held their shape well after washing
  • No rolling of the hem or need to iron

Overall, I think these are great! I hope to see more rigid options in different styles offered in the Bella jeans.
