When it comes to fall, Madewell always has pieces I can count on. Their denim actually fits petites, their shoes are comfortable, and their bags are the kind you reach for again and again. Today I’m sharing three fall staples I’m loving right now: the Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jeans in a dark wash, the Greta Ballet Flats in studded suede, and suede bags that go with everything.

Petite Fall Staples from Madewell
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). Finding jeans that work for petites isn’t always easy, but the Perfect Vintage Wide-Leg Jeans are a great option. This particular pair in Pipestone wash fits me differently than some of the other petite Perfect Vintage Wide Leg jeans in my closet. This pair has a 10.5″ rise in petite, which is higher than the 9 3/4″ rise on some of my other pairs. For me personally, that’s a welcome update. They sit high at the waist, which helps make your legs look longer, and the denim keeps its shape all day. The denim is stretchy and comfortable to wear, and is a perfect true-to-size fit all around. The petite inseam is 28″ which is short enough for me to wear bunchy with flats or with a low-heeled pair of boots.
How to Wear Them: Tuck in a simple sweater or tee to balance the wide leg. Add a cropped jacket or sweater as an added layer. Add ballet flats for an easy daytime look or boots when it’s cooler.

Greta Ballet Flats in Studded Suede
Ballet flats are everywhere this fall, and the Greta Ballet Flats are one of my favorites. The studded suede adds just a little edge while still being easy to wear with lots of outfits. They’re soft inside and out, comfortable, and true to size.
How to Wear Them: Pair them with jeans, trousers, or even a skirt. They instantly make a simple outfit feel a little more put together.

Suede Bags
A suede bag feels just right for fall, and Madewell has some of the best options. From roomy totes to crossbody styles, the soft suede texture adds warmth and pairs perfectly with autumn colors. I especially love the rich brown shades that go with denim, dresses, or anything in between. The studded tote is a medium size that isn’t too overwhelming for petites. The strap is a good length and the bag doesn’t drop too low. It has one large interior pocket, a small button closure pocket, and an open top (no zipper or magnet closure).
How to Wear Them: Carry a suede tote with jeans and ballet flats for everyday, or switch to a smaller crossbody for a hands free options. Either way, suede bags are an easy staple to use all season.

If a smaller crossbody bag is more your style, I love this cinched style. It has one large interior pocket. The color and suede is gorgeous. The included strap is a little bit long for me, even on the shortest option. I wear it just by pushing the buckle aside, but you could also add a hole or swap it with a different strap.
