I was recently asked to share a few petite-friendly suits. When it comes to suiting that works well for petites, I usually turn to Ann Taylor, J.Crew, and Banana Republic Factory.

I did take a look at some newer options, but nothing really stood out or passed my fit test. So instead, I pulled out two of my longtime favorites from Ann Taylor to share again—a fluid crepe set in two colors that can easily be mixed and matched.

The pants are a slim ankle style that works especially well for the season ahead. While both sets look great worn together, they’re just as easy to style separately.

To show that versatility, I created a small mix-and-match capsule with 9 total pieces—three bottoms, two tops, two blazers, and two pairs of shoes—which came together into 11 outfits.

Mix and Match Outfits for Work (9 Items, 11 Outfits)

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

9 Mix and Match Work Pieces

Ann Taylor Collarless Blazer in Fluid Crepe in Sapphire and Ivory

This collarless blazer has a sleek, modern fit. The crepe fabric drapes beautifully and is comfortable to wear. I wear it in Petite 00 and find it to be true to size. I love the overall fit, with the exception of the sleeves, which are a bit long on me. I usually push them back, but you could also have them hemmed for a more tailored look.

I styled the blazer in two colors, sapphire blue and ivory whisper. The sapphire blue is a gorgeous shade—it reads as a neutral but feels a little more unexpected. The ivory is another soft neutral that I wear year-round with dresses, pants, and jeans.

Another bonus: the blazer is machine washable. It’s not completely wrinkle-resistant, but it’s also not prone to wrinkling so it always looks polished.

Ann Taylor Side Zip Ankle Pant in Sapphire and Ivory

I consider the Side Zip Ankle Pants to be true to size in both colors, though it’s worth noting that the ivory pair is lined, which makes them feel slightly more fitted.

The pants have a smooth waistband with a side zipper closure, and in petite, they have a 25″ inseam. The crepe fabric drapes nicely and is very forgiving.

One of my favorite features of the ivory pair is the lining—it not only keeps them from being sheer, but also helps them skim your frame beautifully. I wear them in Petite 00.

Quince Cotton Cashmere Ribbed Top in Heather Oatmeal

The cotton cashmere ribbed top is a great base layer with both suit colors. If you’re open to sleeveless styles, it also looks nice worn on its own.

I find it to be true to size—I wear XS. It has a slim fit that works well for tucking in, and the arm openings fit me well without gaping.

Aritzia Nominee Satin Blouse in Dark Night Navy

The neckline of the Nominee top adds a really nice point of interest to any outfit. I’m wearing it in XXS, and it runs a bit generous on me. I like the way it looks tucked in, which helps create a more tailored fit. If you have the option, I suggest sizing down.

The arm openings are slightly lower, so I prefer to layer it over a camisole. It’s a great piece for layering and adds a little something extra to simple outfits. It looks great worn on it’s own, but can also be layered under blazers.

Grace Karin (Amazon) Pleated Skirt in Brown

The pleated skirt is one you’ve seen me share many times and it’s an easy piece to mix with the blazers and tops I chose. I’m wearing it in a Small, and it fits me well. I’d still consider it true to size, as the elastic waistband makes it work comfortably for me.

It’s fully lined, machine washable, and holds up beautifully over time.
