This time of year, I really start to crave spring. Of course, it’s still long off before we start to be blessed with bright sunny days, but I can definitely start to brighten up my wardrobe. I’ve been gravitating a lot lately to soft blush and mauve, both of which are perfect for Valentine’s Day too!
My husband and I never go all out for Valentine’s Day, so my outfit will be casual, but it’s still fun to wear a little pink on the day.
The first pleated top is on the way to me in my next Trunk from Trunk Club. Based on the picture, this top could either go fantastic, or horribly wrong. I’ll have to let you know how that goes, but that’s the fun of Trunk Club, trying things at home before you buy. The next three tops I tried on Ann Taylor this past week, and honestly loved them all. The littlest fell asleep on our way into the mall to play, and I was actually able to shop and try things on, it was amazing! I’ll let you know what I think about the tops below. The shoes are currently on their way to me, and I can’t wait! Apparently I’ve been under a rock, but I didn’t realize until recently you could order a size 5 from Target online. In store they typically only carry a 5.5, which doesn’t fit me, so I quit looking at their shoes altogether. I’m really excited to try this pair!
So on to my outfit plans. I’m thinking I’m going to wear a pair of black denim. I have a pair from LOFT that I’m wearing in the pictures below. Then, depending on how well the blush shoes work, I may wear them with an all black outfit, with the denim, this top, and a pop of pink with the earrings. Or go with a blush top and the boots, like I’m wearing in my Ann Taylor try on below.

This sweatshirt is so soft and it’s the prettiest color! I tried it on in xxs petite, but really think I would have liked the fit on the xs petite a little more. Although I could picture it being so cute with even a pair of leggings for a casual day, I decided to skip it. The sleeves weren’t very flattering on my frame.

This sweater was my favorite! I didn’t purchase it that day, mainly because I’m trying to put more thought into my purchases and building my wardrobe. This try on was a little impromptu thanks to nap time, and I wanted to be sure it’s what I really wanted and loved before committing. However, I think I’m going back for it! It’s such a pretty color and I could see it looking just as pretty with white denim in the spring. I’m wearing a petite xxs and love the fit.

I also think I will go back for this top (or let’s be real, order it online)! It’s so comfortable, and one of those tops that you can throw on with jeans and still look put together. I really love it as is with the black denim and boots, but could also see pairing it with the blush flats and denim. The only reason I hesitated on it, was the fact that I wasn’t sure how much I would wear it into the spring. I’m typically such an impulse shopper, so this new strategy is hard for me. Y’all weigh in, do you love it?!
I’ll keep you posted on what I decide! So, tell me, what are you wearing for Valentine’s Day?!
