Summer mini capsule wardrobes are one of my favorite ways to simplify getting dressed, especially this time of year when I want outfits that feel easy, comfortable, and pulled together without a lot of effort. For this mini capsule, I kept things casual and styled 10 simple pieces into 15 different outfit ideas that work for everyday summer life.

This capsule leans a little more colorful than some of my past ones, with fun pops of yellow and pink mixed in with versatile basics. Everything can be mixed and matched, making it easy to create a lot of outfits without needing a huge wardrobe. As always, I focused on petite-friendly pieces and proportions that work well on my 4’10” frame. I aim to bring something from each capsule into the next one. So for this one I kept a basic white t-shirt and the same accessories.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

BR Factory Yellow Linen Shorts: XXS

A linen-blend pair of shorts with a high rise and a modest 4″ inseam. These shorts are unlined but don’t appear to be sheer to me. They’re lightweight, true to size, and perfect for summer. For size reference, I wear them in XXS.

BR Factory Denim Pull-On Shorts: XXS

I recently shared a post on Instagram comparing three pairs of pull-on shorts side by side, and one follower suggested I try this pair from Banana Republic Factory. She was right — they’re great!

These shorts have a modest 4″ inseam, a slim fit, and a flattering paperbag waistband. They’re lightweight and comfortable for summer, but not thin or clingy, which I really appreciate. They are labeled as a mid-rise but they’re a high-rise on my petite frame.

Quince Bella Stretch Shorts: 24 – in ghost white

The Bella Vintage Stretch Shorts have a high 10.5″ rise and a 4 3/4″ inseam, with the same comfortable stretch as Quince’s jeans. They’re made from 73% organic cotton, 26% Lyocell Tencel, and 1% spandex.

I tried these shorts in both white and Atlantic Blue. The white pair runs a little snug in my true size, while the Atlantic Blue pair fits true to size. The white fabric also isn’t see-through, which is always a plus for summer shorts.

LOFT Sawyer Pull-On Pants in Linen: Petite XXS

The Sawyer Pull-On Linen Pants are easy throw-on-and-go pants for summer. They have a relaxed fit without feeling overly oversized, and the lightweight linen keeps them breathable in hot weather. Even though they’re 100% linen, the fabric is surprisingly soft and comfortable to wear. They have a 10″ rise and a 27″ inseam (measured from petite xxs).

A basic white t-shirt from Walmart that’s become an easy everyday staple. I like the slim fit, cap sleeves, and affordable price point. It’s not see-through and works well both on its own and layered under jackets or cardigans.

Anthropologie Cropped Button Down Top: XXS

I stumbled upon this cropped button-down top in-store at Anthropologie and immediately thought it looked promising for petites. The cropped length pairs perfectly with high-rise bottoms, and the short sleeves make it a great option for summer. I also love how versatile it is — it looks just as good worn open over a tank as it does buttoned on its own.

Anthropologie Cotton Cashmere Cardigan: XXS

I love the bold color and cropped fit of this cotton-cashmere cardigan. The proportions work especially well for petites, making it easy to pair with high-rise bottoms without overwhelming a smaller frame. I’m wearing it in XXS, and it has a soft feel with a little light stretch for comfort.

LOFT Striped Tank Top: XXS

I’ve been buying these tank tops from LOFT for years in different colors because I love the fit so much. They have a slim fit, don’t gape at the arm openings, and can easily be worn with a regular bra — although a racerback style gives the most seamless look. I wear the top in XXS and find it to fit true to size.

These are a true-to-size, go-with-everything pair of sandals. There is definitely a break-in period, though. At first, they were quite uncomfortable across my toes and ankles, and I wasn’t sure I could fully recommend them. However, after wearing them for a while, the straps softened and loosened, and they’re now much more comfortable.

Sam Edelman Ellina Sandals TTS

I thought I was set on summer sandals, but then I came across the Ellina Sandals from Sam Edelman. I love the slim fit and delicate straps, and the metallic finish felt like exactly what my wardrobe was missing. They fit well and are surprisingly comfortable too, with a lightly padded footbed and straps that don’t pinch.
