As someone who is typically xxs, I often struggle not only with t-shirts being too long, but also just too big overall, and I found options that offer petite sizing or start at xxs. Petite-Friendly Basic T-Shirts

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Petite T-Shirts

When it comes to a basic t-shirt, in the last year I have bought the majority of mine from Pact, Quince, and Athleta/Gap/Old Navy. I love the overall fit and organic cotton options at Pact, but Quince also has organic options, and most of them fit me well. For less expensive and petite specific sizing, the Gap family of brands (Athleta, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Gap) offers petite sizing in their t-shirts as well as some options that are 100% cotton. In this post I’m reviewing a few favorites from Pact and Old Navy.

The Pact Luxe Stretch Slim Tee is a slim, crewneck-style tee crafted from 100% organic cotton. It’s a comfortable stretch option that layers well. This t-shirt starts at XXS, which is a perfect fit for me, but offers sizing up to 3X. Lengthwise, this t-shirt has a standard length and hits at my mid-hip, untucked. I chose white in this t-shirt, and with a nude bra, it’s not see-through (if you wear white under it, you will see it).

When it comes to a v-neck t-shirt, I often struggle with them being too low-cut and gaping at the chest. I found that the Softspun V-Neck Tee from Pact has a v-neck that isn’t too low and doesn’t gape. It’s soft 100% organic cotton and has a standard mid-hip length on me. This t-shirt is true to size, XXS is the best fit for me.

The Pact Featherweight Slub Muscle Tee is made of lightweight organic cotton. It’s a soft tank top with unique details at the arm openings. In XXS, my true size, it’s a perfect relaxed fit with a standard length, and it doesn’t gape at the arm openings. I’ve only tried it in this soft blue, so I can’t speak to how sheer it is in other colors, but in this color, it’s not sheer.

Pact Softspun High Neck Tank has a slim fit and is made of soft stretch organic cotton. This tank top isn’t sheer at all and has a great fit at the arms. I love wearing this one tucked into activewear shorts as well.

Old Navy Vintage Cotton Crew T-Shirt is a boxy option that comes in petite sizing. I love that it has a classic, oversized look while still being well-proportioned for petites. This t-shirt is made of thick 100% cotton. It’s not stretchy and not see-through.

The Old Navy Snug Crop T-Shirt is perfectly cropped for petites. It’s a slim-fit, ribbed, cotton-blend option. This t-shirt hits right at my hips, so it’s a nice, cropped option that you can wear untucked. It comes in petite sizing, and I’m wearing it here in Petite XS.
