When it comes to spring and summer, I truly believe there’s no such thing as too many dress options. So in today’s post, I’m sharing six petite-friendly styles to choose from.
Every time I share a round of dresses, I get messages and comments asking for something a little different, so I made it a point to include a mix—mini, midi, and maxi lengths, ranging from easy cotton day dresses to a couple of options you could wear for a casual spring event.

6 Petite-Friendly Spring Dresses That Fit Perfectly (No Tailoring Needed)
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Linen Blend Dress – Banana Republic Factory
I love everything about this dress. The fit is spot on—the length is perfect, the arms and shoulders are well proportioned, and it’s not too low-cut or gaping at the chest.
I was a little nervous about the linen blend (would it be rough or see-through?), but it’s neither. The fabric is soft, fully lined, and even in white it isn’t see-through.
I went with my true size, Petite XXS, and it fits well overall, though it’s slightly snug at the elastic waist. If you’re between sizes, I’d suggest sizing up for a more comfortable fit.

Josefina Dress – WAYF
The Josefina Dress from WAYF comes in several colors and prints. I first tried it last year in a red print, and I’ve loved the shape ever since. It’s fully lined, has a stretch panel at the back, and features adjustable spaghetti straps.
This dress does run long and may be too long for some petites. I’m shorter through the chest and shoulders, so I’m able to shorten the straps quite a bit, which helps bring the overall length up. I still need a heel with the dress, it comes to the floor on me without shoes. As always, keep in mind that dress length can increase with size—I’m wearing an XS here.
Otherwise, it fits me well through the body, and this sunny yellow gingham print is just so pretty for spring.

Cotton Poplin Dress – Banana Republic Factory
I love dresses with adjustable features, and this cotton poplin dress from Banana Republic Factory is a great example. It has ties on either side of the waist so you can adjust the fit to your liking. The puff sleeves are nicely balanced—not too much—and it has a full-coverage back with a button closure at the top. It’s unlined, but I don’t find it to be sheer. This dress is not petite sizing, but fits me well in XXS.

White Clip Dot Dress – Chelsea28
I bought this dress because it looked too small on the model, so I felt like there was a good chance it would be well proportioned for me—and I was right.
Despite not having any adjustable features, the fit is spot on. I love the length, the cap sleeves, and that there’s no gaping at the arm openings. The neckline also isn’t too low, which I always appreciate.
It’s fully lined with a soft clip dot and lace overlay, and it feels like such a sweet little white dress for spring and summer. I’m wearing it in XXS, and I’d say it fits true to size.

Cotton Midi Dress – Banana Republic Factory
This dress is perfect for everyday wear. It’s 100% cotton and really well proportioned for petites.
The buttons are functional all the way down, and the waistband is stretchy—not too tight—with a fabric belt to help define your shape. The sleeves are slightly puffy but nicely balanced.
I also love the green and white stripe—it just feels so fresh for spring. I’m wearing this in Petite XXS, and I’d consider it true to size. This one is also unlined but doesn’t seem sheer to me.

Lace Trim Shirt Dress – Chelsea 28
The last dress is a mini option that would be perfect for a special occasion. I’m wearing it in XS, but XXS would be a better overall fit for me.
It’s fully lined and has a dropped waist, but the attached fabric belt lets you cinch it at your natural waist—which I prefer. A dropped waist throws off proportions and shortens legs, which isn’t something I can pull off. I love the color and all the little details. The overlay is sheer with lace trim, and the hem has a subtle weighted band that gives the skirt a bit of movement.

When it comes to spring and summer dresses, finding styles that actually fit without a trip to the tailor can feel like a win—and these are all pieces I’d happily reach for again and again. I tried to include a mix of everyday options and a couple that feel a little more special, so you have something for whatever’s on your calendar. As always, I’ll keep sharing more petite-friendly finds as I come across them.
