I’m only six months away from turning 30, but I’m still very much, young at heart. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already read my story about the little girl who asked me if I was a “kid adult.” I’m pretty sure she meant teenager, but really, she was spot on. I’m very much a kid adult. I’ve grown up, become an adult and have taken on all of the adult responsibilities; home ownership, children and being self sufficient. But deep down, I’m that 17-year-old girl with her windows down, music blaring, without a care in the world.
Volcom is my 17-year-old self. Their brand is young and edgy and this Nerd of Paradise top makes me feel like my former self. Not in a inappropriate way, but in a flirty, fun, omg this top has ruffles, kind of way.

Now, let’s give this top a good review. I love the floral print, the ruffles and the unique high-low hem on this top. The length is perfect for me (keep in mind, I’m petite) and the fabric is light and will be perfect for a hot summer day. The straps are adjustable, my favorite word. I was able to bring the top up so it didn’t come down too low, which I love! Plus, if you’re not petite, you’ll be able to adjust the straps down to your height. I would say it runs true to size and fits me well!
How I Styled It
I broke out my STS Blue shorts and Marc Fisher wedges for this top. Both of those items also make me feel young, so I felt like they were the perfect compliment!I didn’t photograph my bag, but since this is casual, I just carried my favorite tote. I also wore a pair of SugarFix by Target earrings, which aren’t well photographed, but they are fun!
I’ve been adding a lot of things to my closet lately that I feel like I’ll wear a lot. This top is one of them! I like it most in a casual, untucked way, so you can see the ruffles, so I will mostly be wearing it with shorts and sandals.
