It’s no secret that a white t-shirt is one of the best basics you can have in your wardrobe. Depending on the style of your top, you can wear it solo and layer it endlessly. In this post I’m focusing on a slim fit boatneck tank top. This tank top is made with organic jersey cotton, it’s not see through and it washes beautifully. The fit is spot on as well – being slim, but not too slim. I’m currently working on multiple basic t-shirt options for petites, but in the meantime, here are four ways to wear a white tank top for spring and summer.

White Tank Top Four Ways
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
With Shorts
This tank top can be dressed up or down. You can wear it casually, pair it with denim or activewear shorts, or dress it up with a skirt and heels. In this outfit, I paired it with denim shorts and sneakers. The denim shorts are true to size. They don’t ride up and aren’t too tight or too loose. They have a 3″ inseam that is modest and comfortable without being too long for short legs. For what it’s worth, I also love 4″ inseam shorts, but often find 5″ to be too long on me.

With a Cardigan
The fit of the tank top makes it great for layering, even under slim cardigans. I chose this cardigan especially because of the fit. It has slim sleeves but is see-through, so it needs an under layer. This tank top pairs perfectly with it! The cardigan is a Sezane splurge, but one I love. While many Sezane pieces run large on me, this one is a perfect fit. I’m wearing it in XXS for reference.

With a Blazer
This top is polished enough to wear with your workwear. It layers beautifully under a blazer. The pants and blazer I’m wearing are both true to size. The pants come to the top of my foot and look best on me with heels.

Under a Lace Top
You may recognize this lace top from my spring capsule wardrobe. I layered it over this tank top every single time. I love the lace top, and while you could layer it over a camisole, I like this tank top, which hides your bra straps and makes for a cleaner look.
