In today’s post, I’m sharing four casual work outfit ideas that are petite-friendly and easy to recreate. These outfits mix comfortable pieces like linen pants, midi skirts, and cotton dresses with polished details like ballet flats and structured layers for an effortless workwear look.

Palmer Pants + Short Sleeve Cardigan

The Palmer Pants from LOFT are one of my favorite casual workwear styles for petites. They have a cropped wide-leg fit that still feels balanced on a smaller frame, thanks to the high rise and slim fit through the hips. I’m wearing them in Petite 00 and find them roomy at the waist, so I recommend sizing down if you’re able to. The sizing can be inconsistent with the Palmer Pants. This pair in particular has a 24″ inseam in petite.

I paired them with ballet flats and a short-sleeve cardigan from J.Crew. The cardigan is especially well proportioned for petites and works perfectly with high-rise bottoms without needing to tuck it in. I sized up to XS for a slightly more relaxed fit.

Midi Skirt + Sleeveless Poplin Top

For the second outfit, I styled a midi skirt I found at Target. The skirt is fully lined and has an adjustable drawstring waist, which makes it easy to customize the fit. I’m wearing it in XXS, and the length works surprisingly well on my 4’10” frame.

I paired the skirt with a sleeveless cotton poplin top from J.Crew Factory. I’m wearing the top in XXS and love how crisp and polished it looks while still feeling lightweight and comfortable for summer. The slimmer fit of the top balances the fuller shape of the skirt nicely on a petite frame.

Simple Cotton Dress

Sometimes the easiest work outfit is simply a great dress. In this outfit, I’m wearing a cotton dress from LOFT that feels casual yet polished enough for work. The dress is 100% cotton and has a thicker fabric that doesn’t cling, which I really appreciate during the summer months.

The details are what elevate this dress a bit — subtle seaming throughout the skirt and gathering at the chest give it more shape and structure while still keeping it comfortable and easy to wear.

Petite-Friendly Linen Pants + Sleeveless Cardigan

For the final outfit, I styled a pair of petite-friendly linen pants from LOFT. These pants have a 27″ inseam in Petite XXS and a slimmer fit that makes them feel a little more polished than a typical relaxed linen pant.

To make them feel even more work appropriate, I tucked in the drawstring ties for a cleaner look. I paired them with a sleeveless cardigan from Kohl’s and finished the outfit with ballet flats. The combination feels lightweight and comfortable for summer while still looking put together enough for a casual office environment.
