Every summer, I find myself reaching for the same types of outfits: comfortable, practical pieces that are easy to wear but still feel put together. While it’s fun to try trends, most days I’m getting dressed for everyday life—running errands, spending time with family, heading to lunch, or enjoying a casual weekend.
Today I’m sharing five easy summer outfits that work well on my 4’10” frame. These are comfortable outfits built around pieces I’ve genuinely enjoyed wearing, and each one is easy to recreate for your own summer wardrobe.

5 Easy Summer Outfits for Petites
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Romper + Denim Top
A romper is one of the easiest one-and-done outfits for summer, and this Target romper is especially petite-friendly.
Many of the reviews noted that it runs short and small, which can be frustrating for some shoppers but ended up being a win for me. I’m wearing the romper in XS and find it fits my frame really well.
The fabric is soft and stretchy, making it comfortable for warm days. I love layering a denim top over it for a little extra coverage, but it also works well worn on its own or layered over a swimsuit for a day by the water.

Amazon Athletic Dress
We spend many of our summer weekends at our river house, moving between the water, the boat, and whatever else the day brings. On those days, comfort is my top priority.
These athletic dresses from Amazon have become one of my favorite things to wear. They’re soft, stretchy, comfortable, and come in several colors. I’m wearing the Gray Blue colorway here, which is actually more of a muted green.
I wear mine in XS and find the fit excellent for petites. One of my favorite styling tricks is layering a fitted tank underneath so I can comfortably wear a regular bra while still enjoying the easy look of the dress.

Poplin Shorts + Cropped Button-Down Shirt
This outfit strikes a nice balance between comfortable and put together.
The boxer-style poplin shorts from Amazon are one of those pieces that are so easy to wear. At under $15, they’re also a great budget-friendly find.
I love the relaxed fit and lightweight feel. They’re perfect for casual summer days, but also work well as a swimsuit cover-up when you’re heading to the pool, beach, or river.
Paired with a cropped button-down shirt, the outfit feels polished without sacrificing comfort.

Drawstring Denim Shorts + Crochet Top
When temperatures rise, I appreciate tops that look good worn untucked, and this crochet vest from LOFT is exactly that kind of piece.
The open crochet texture adds interest while still feeling lightweight for summer. I wear it layered over a camisole and love the relaxed fit.
For the bottom half, I paired it with drawstring denim shorts from Target. I’m wearing the shorts in XS and find them comfortable and easy to wear. They also come in white, which I think would pair beautifully with the crochet top for a lighter summer look.

Pull-On Pants + Crochet Tank
Even in the summer, there are days when I want a little more coverage than shorts provide. That’s where a great pair of lightweight pull-on pants comes in.
These pants from Marine Layer are made from a hemp and Tencel blend that feels breathable and lightweight without being as wrinkle-prone as linen (full review in this post). They’re incredibly comfortable and have held up beautifully through washing.
One thing to note is that I recommend hanging them to dry to prevent shrinkage.
I paired them with another crochet tank for a simple, easy summer outfit that feels comfortable enough for everyday wear while still looking polished.

Easy summer outfits don’t have to be complicated to be stylish. A comfortable romper, an athletic dress, a pair of easy shorts, or lightweight pull-on pants can all create outfits that feel practical for everyday life while still looking put together.
These are the types of outfits I find myself reaching for again and again because they work for real life—and ultimately, those are the pieces that earn a permanent place in my wardrobe.
