In my last neutral outfits for summer post, I leaned heavily on linen shorts. I love linen, but the wrinkly nature isn’t for everyone. So, this time around, I mainly focused on building outfits with crepe-tailored shorts. The shorts give these outfits a little more polish, so they would be great for occasions where you want to be a little dressed up. Because I’ve been trying to keep this series a mix of outfits, I also threw in an active option!

Summer Outfits by Color: Neutrals
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Crepe + Cashmere
This outfit right here is the European summer elevated outfit idea you’ve been seeing all over socials, but short girl approved. The pieces are elevated, but mainly from Quince, so they’re well priced. I’m wearing a cashmere tank top (true to size, I’m wearing XS) and crepe tailored shorts. The shorts aren’t thin, don’t wrinkle easily, and are machine washable. The shorts fit me well in a size 0. Technically, my true size is 00, so they are a little roomy, but go with your true size, or if you’re like me at 00, a 0 will work.

This outfit is similar, but instead of a cashmere tank top, I swapped in a sweater tank top from Target. This tank top is cropped, it tucks into high-rise bottoms roughly 2″. The straps are wide, and it has a sweetheart neckline. It’s thick, ribbed, and has a slightly compressive (and flattering) fit. I’m wearing the tank top in XS. I paired this outfit with lace-up sandals from Quince that are currently unavailable.

An Active Dress for Petites
It’s fair to mention that I’m particular about activewear dresses. I don’t like low backs, low necklines, and I want to wear a bra with one. I’m also not into feeling like I’m wearing a full-blown bathing suit/sausage casing. SO, you can imagine it’s not always easy to find that needle in a haystack. I’ve come to love this active dress from Spanx and the one in this post from Athleta. The Athleta dress comes in petite, so it’s a shorter length. You can wear a regular (strapless) bra with it and it has nice covered in the front and back. It’s also not overly tight and compressive. The only drawback to this dress is that the shorts are attached so you have to take the entire thing down to use the bathroom.

A Summer Date Night Outfit
If you want to take it up a notch for a summer date, this outfit is it. I paired an Amazon skort with a corset-style top from Aritzia. The Aritzia top is almost a two-person job to put on because it unzips completely in the back, but once you have it on, it’s worth it. Due to the broad set straps, a strapless bra works best with this top. It’s well lined, cinches at the waist and overall true to size, I’m wearing it in XXS in Light Birch.This top looks beautiful and a little more elegant with a silk midi or maxi skirt. The skort fits me best in XXS. It’s well made and not overly tight or short.
