If there’s one color making a statement this summer, it’s red. Whether you prefer dresses, skirts, shorts, or casual everyday separates, there are plenty of ways to incorporate this trend into your summer outfits.

Today I’m sharing four red summer outfits that are comfortable, easy to wear, and petite-friendly.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Chile Red Linen Dress

Nothing feels more like summer than a lightweight linen dress. This 100% linen dress from Quince comes in a beautiful chile red shade that feels rich and sophisticated. (Plus works the best with my skin tone).

I’m wearing the dress in XS and find it true to size. It features a smocked bodice for a comfortable fit, along with stretchy straps that help accommodate different proportions. The dress is not lined, but it’s not see-through.

I recommend a convertible style bra with the straps attached for the best coverage and support.

Red Cotton Gauze Skirt and Crochet Tank

For a casual but elevated summer look, I paired Quince’s cotton gauze maxi skirt in chile red with a crochet tank from Abercrombie.

The skirt is made from 100% organic cotton and is lightweight, breathable, and comfortable for hot weather. I’m wearing it in XS and find it true to size. Because of my height, I wear the skirt at my natural waist to help shorten the overall length and create balanced proportions.

The crochet tank fits me well in XXS and adds great texture to the outfit. It is see-through, so I recommend layering a camisole underneath. My favorite option is the SO camisole from Kohl’s, which provides coverage without adding bulk.

White Denim Shorts and a Red Boho Top

If dresses and skirts aren’t your thing, a red top paired with white shorts is an easy way to embrace the trend.

The white denim shorts from Quince are a great staple for summer. They aren’t see-through and generally fit true to size, though you may prefer sizing up if you want additional room through the waist and hips.

I paired them with a red boho-inspired top from Target. I’m wearing the top in XS and find it slightly oversized, which works well with the relaxed silhouette. The sleeves feature elastic cuffs that can easily be pushed up and will stay in place, making it comfortable even on warmer days.

Boxer Shorts and a Cotton Sweater Tank

For a casual weekend outfit, I paired printed boxer shorts from Amazon with Quince’s cotton sweater tank.

The boxer shorts are lightweight, breathable, and incredibly comfortable for hot weather. I’m wearing them in XS, and they come in several fun prints and colors.

The sweater tank is made from 100% cotton and fits me well in XS. I love the slightly elevated look of a sweater tank paired with casual shorts—it feels polished without sacrificing comfort.
