We’ve made it to the last chapter of my fall capsule wardrobe for petites, and I’m finishing things off with a faux suede skirt from J.Crew Factory. The color and cut paired beautifully with the rest of the capsule pieces, and I loved styling it in different ways for both casual and dressy looks.

Fall Capsule Wardrobe Series: Suede Skirt 5 Ways

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

J.Crew Factory Faux Suede Skirt

This skirt is slim through the hips, so I sized up for more room. If you have narrower hips, I’d recommend going with your true size. It’s a versatile piece that looks great with both knee-high boots and ballet flats, which I used in all five outfits.

Here are five ways I styled the faux suede skirt with my capsule pieces.

With that, this post concludes my casual fall capsule wardrobe series for fall 2025! It may not seem like it, but these capsule wardrobes entail a lot of planning and pivoting. I mapped it out for several weeks, trying pieces, choosing favorites, and remapped it over and over again because the pieces I chose were going out of stock. With a difficult fit, it’s not as easy as just pulling things together that look good on paper, they have to actually fit well together also. My overall goal with capsule planning is the fit of the pieces, but I also like to try to make it easy for you to recreate it by choosing multiple items from the same brands. This capsule I relied heavily on J.Crew/Factory and Quince (I often do with fall capsules) but mixed in other pieces that I felt fit better or were simply the only options I could find in stock. The week I filmed the capsule storms rolled through and it was very dark outside. I use lighting but also rely quite a bit on natural light for a good representation of colors in my photos and videos, so needless to say I struggled with lighting (apologies for the dark photos). On top of that I lost a memory card in the process of filming (I’m old school and use cameras, not my phone) so I had to totally refilm parts of the capsule. To say I’m relieved to finally have it pulled together and complete is an understatement. I hope you love it and I hope it helps you build a foundation for your fall wardrobe! Stay tuned for the workwear capsule next week (fingers crossed the filming goes better than this week).
