Whenever I find a well-fitting T-shirt dress, I welcome the opportunity to show a few ways to layer it. A T-shirt dress is a comfortable staple item that, of course, wears perfectly on its own, but it also layers well and is a versatile piece to have in your closet.

Four Ways to Wear a T-Shirt Dress
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Banana Republic Factory T-Shirt Dress
I found this sleeveless t-shirt dress at Banana Republic Factory. It’s thick, so it’s not see-through. It’s stretchy and comfortable, and I find it to be true to size overall, but I will note that it clings to my hips a little bit. If you have similar proportions to mine, you may want to size up.

With a Denim Top
A denim jacket is a layering go-to for a summer dress, but this denim top is a lighter option you can try. I chose a boxy cropped style to give it a modern vibe and paired it with Gola sneakers and a crossbody bag.

With a Vest
The dress is a little too short to wear to work, but the thick fabric makes it polished enough to dress up. If you want to wear it to work, I would opt for regular sizing for more length. I added a sleeveless vest here and kitten heels for a dressed-up option with a t-shirt dress.

A linen top is one of my favorite layering pieces for hot weather. A classic white one looks great worn with a t-shirt dress and a casual pair of sandals.
