Summer Outfits by Color: Green

In today’s post I’m sharing a mix of casual and slightly dressed-up summer outfits in different shades of green.

Summer Outfits by Color: Green

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Barrel Jeans

I almost thought barrel jeans were a hard pass for me – until I tried this pair at Madewell. The Pieced Barrel Leg jeans from Madewell have a high-rise and a slim barrel leg that hits at my ankle (they have a 25″ inseam in petite). I personally think it’s the rise and slim leg that make these jeans work for me. I also tried Madewell’s Darted Barrel jeans, and they weren’t a win. The lower rise and more exaggerated barrel shape made me look wide and they have a really awkward seam at the butt – just saying. So, sometimes it’s just about finding the right balance for you and not the style itself. I paired them with a dolman style top from LOFT. This top has a generous drapey fit – so it takes a little work to tuck in, but I love the soft color and unique style. I also styled it untucked in another outfit so you can see how it fits that way too. For shoes I chose slim strap sandals in nude so they wouldn’t add weight to my feet and give a little bit of balance to the outfit.

Denim Shorts

Here’s a look at the top untucked. It has a wide swing fit, which I love. You can also wear it half-tucked here, but it’s easiest to wear either untucked or fully tucked. I chose a pair of denim shorts from J.Crew here. These shorts have a mid 4″ inseam and stretch denim. If you want a little more room in the thighs, I recommend a size up,

Midi Dress

After I posted a mini t-shirt dress, I had several requests for a midi-length t-shirt dress. So, I found a good petite option at J.Crew Factory. This dress is true to size, with a slim fit, but it’s not overly tight. If you’re wide at the hips, like me, it may cling to you there, so a size up may be more comfortable. It also comes in three other color options.

Linen Shorts

In this outfit, I paired a top in the same shade of green as the dress above with my favorite Quince linen shorts. This top has a great fit, with no gaping at the armholes, and comes in several colors.

Floral Shorts

In the last two outfits I styled a pair of floral shorts from LOFT two ways. In one outfit I went with a simple t-shirt and sandals and in the next I dressed the shorts up a bit with a vest and kitten heels. The shorts are fully lined and are true to size. I love the tailored fit and find the inseam to be a nice balance for petites.
