LOFT continues to be one of the retailers I check first when shopping for petite pants. They regularly offer petite sizing, and while the fit can vary from style to style (and even season to season), there are usually several options that work well on my 4’10” frame.
Today I’m reviewing four pairs of LOFT pants, including updated versions of the Sawyer Pull-On Pants, the Palmer Ponte Pants, and a great Lou & Grey option that’s become an easy alternative to the popular Athleta Endless Pants.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
1. Sawyer Pull-On Pants in Crepe
Size Worn: Petite XXS
Rise: 10.5″
Inseam: 28″
I purchased a pair of these pants this spring, and although they appear to be the same style, I believe LOFT revamped them for the fall season.
The biggest change is the fit. My spring pair ran noticeably large, while this version fits true to size. Unfortunately, the inseam also increased. Although the website still lists a 27.5″ inseam, I measured mine at 28″.
That extra half inch makes a difference on my frame. I could comfortably wear the spring version with flats, but this updated pair looks much better with a low heel.
Fit changes aside, these are still a great pair of work trousers. The crepe fabric drapes beautifully, resists wrinkles, and is machine washable, making them an easy choice for busy workdays or travel.

2. Sawyer Pull-On Pants in Stripe
Size Worn: Petite XXS
Rise: 10.5″
Inseam: 28″
The striped Sawyer Pants fit very similarly to the crepe version. They have the same rise and inseam, so the same notes about length apply. On my 4’10” frame, I prefer wearing them with a low heel rather than flats. To note, the measurements on this pair are also off from the LOFT website, I measured a shorter rise and a longer inseam.
One difference I noticed is that this striped pair runs slightly larger. I stayed with my usual size, but if you’re between sizes or have the option, I’d consider sizing down.
I really like the sporty track stripe and the chartreuse color.

3. Palmer Pants in Ponte
Size Worn: Petite 00
Rise: 10″
Inseam: 28″
The Palmer Pants are one of LOFT’s signature silhouettes. They’re a slim wide-leg style with front patch pockets, and LOFT releases them throughout the year in different fabrics and lengths.
This ponte version fits me well in my true size, including at the waist. That’s worth mentioning because I’ve found other versions of the Palmer Pants to run large, especially through the waist.
With a 28-inch inseam, these are a true full-length pant on my frame. I can get away with wearing them with flats, but they definitely look their best with a small heel to complement the longer length.
The ponte fabric also gives them a structured, polished look while remaining comfortable enough for all-day wear.

4. Lou & Grey Wanderweave Straight Pants
Size Worn: Petite XXS
Rise: 10″
Inseam: 24.5″
If you’ve looked at Athleta’s Endless Pants but found them a little too roomy, these Lou & Grey Wanderweave Straight Pants are a great alternative.
The overall look is very similar, but the fit is a little slimmer and works much better on my petite frame. I found them true to size in Petite XXS.
They’re made from a wrinkle-resistant fabric and feature an easy pull-on waistband along with zippered pockets that keep the design clean and functional.
The cropped 24.5-inch inseam makes these incredibly easy to wear with flats, sneakers, or loafers, and they’re versatile enough for casual offices, everyday outfits, or travel. At their price point, they’re an excellent value compared to similar styles.

Final Thoughts
LOFT continues to offer a nice variety of petite-friendly pants, but it’s worth paying attention to the details because the fit can change from one release to the next. Even styles with the same name don’t always fit exactly the same from season to season. Despite a little variation in fit, they continue to offer great options for petites.
