Shopping for a formal wedding guest dress can be especially challenging when you’re petite. Longer dresses often require hemming, which can add both time and expense before you ever get to wear them.
In this post, I’ve rounded up three petite-friendly wedding guest dresses that I can wear right off the rack without alterations. All three are longer styles, making them great options for weddings with a formal or cocktail dress code while still fitting my 4’10” frame beautifully.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
1. Tuckernuck Crepe Jersey Dress
If comfort is high on your priority list, this Crepe Jersey Dress from Tuckernuck is an excellent option.
The jersey fabric has plenty of stretch, making it comfortable enough to wear through a long ceremony, dinner, and plenty of dancing. Even with the comfortable fabric, the silhouette still feels polished and formal.
I also love the color, which transitions beautifully from late summer into fall. I’m wearing XXS, and I found it true to size. The fit is spot on, skimming the body without feeling restrictive, and the length works perfectly on my petite frame without needing alterations.

2. WAYF Sarielle Ruched Midi Dress
The Sarielle Ruched Midi Dress from WAYF is another great option if you’re looking for something that’s both flattering and comfortable.
The ruching through the bodice gives the dress a beautiful, body-skimming fit while also making it more forgiving and somewhat adjustable through the midsection. It truly fits like a glove without feeling overly tight.
I’m wearing XS, and the fit is excellent. It comes in several colors, but I especially love this shade of blue for late summer and fall weddings.

3. By Anthropologie Waisted Cap-Sleeve Dress
For something a little softer and more romantic, this Waisted Cap-Sleeve Dress from Anthropologie is a beautiful choice.
I’m wearing Petite XXS, and I found it true to size. The dress is fully lined with a lightweight overlay that gives it an elegant movement without feeling heavy.
The soft blue color also feels perfect for late summer weddings while transitioning seamlessly into early fall celebrations. This one also comes in burgundy, if you can snag your size, it would be perfect for fall.

Final Thoughts
