Blazers are the finishing piece that always elevates an outfit—but finding one that actually works on a petite frame can feel like a challenge. Between sleeves that are too long, shoulders that overwhelm, and lengths that hit in all the wrong places, not every blazer is created with petites in mind. The good news? There are plenty of options out there that do work—you just have to know what to look for and where to look for them.

In this post, I’m sharing petite-friendly blazers that are perfect for spring and summer and the brand I frequently look to for petite options. Think lightweight fabrics, easy layering pieces, and silhouettes that won’t drown your frame. Whether you’re heading into the office, dressing up a casual outfit, or just want that extra polished layer, these are the styles that actually fit—and flatter—without the need for tailoring.

Petite-Friendly Blazers

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

My Thoughts:
The Crosshatch Blazer from White House Black Market is a great fit for petites. It’s lightweight and perfect for warmer weather. I love how it looks both worn open and buttoned. It cinches at the waist with two buttons and flares slightly at the hem, creating a flattering shape. It fits me well through the body and isn’t tight or restrictive in the shoulders.

Sculpted Stretch Blazer (Banana Republic Factory)

Quick Details:

  • Fit: runs large, boxy and relaxed
  • Length: longline
  • Sleeve Length: full length, well proportioned for petites
  • Fabric: 67% recycled polyester, 28% rayon, 5% elastane spandex.
  • Care: machine wash
  • Petite-Friendly Notes: fits well at the shoulders and sleeves, has a boxy fit through the body

My Thoughts:
The Sculpted Stretch Blazer from Banana Republic Factory is a comfortable, stretchy option that’s often priced around $100 or less. It’s lightweight, making it easy to wear year-round. The blazer fits me well through the shoulders, and the sleeves are a great length. It does have a boxy, slightly oversized fit through the body, so I like to balance the proportions by pushing up the sleeves.

How I Styled It:
I styled the blazer here with a sheath dress from White House Black Market. The dress runs snug across the hips, so size up if you’re curvy.

Schoolboy Blazer (J.Crew Factory)

Quick Details:

  • Fit: true to size, slim through the sleeves
  • Length: hip-length
  • Sleeve Length: full length, well proportioned for petites
  • Fabric: 55% linen/45% cotton.
  • Care: dry clean
  • Petite-Friendly Notes: a classic fit that is well proportioned for petites

My Thoughts:
The Schoolboy Blazer from J.Crew Factory is a classic that’s been around for years. This linen and cotton version is the only option in this post made from natural fibers, rather than polyester. However, it’s also the only one that requires dry cleaning.

The sleeves on this blazer are the only ones that hit exactly at my wrist bone—the others fall slightly below, but not enough to cover my hands, so they still work. Being petite, sometimes you take what you can get. The Schoolboy Blazer has a boxy cut and hits at the hip for a classic, easy-to-style fit.

How I Styled It:
I styled the blazer here with a pair of wide-leg stretch ponte pants and an olive green tank top.

Best Brands for Petite Blazers

When you’re shopping for a blazer as a petite, your best bet is to look for petite sizing. These styles are designed with shorter proportions in mind—adjusted through the shoulders, sleeve length, and overall length—so they tend to fit much better right off the rack.

Here are a few of my go-to brands for petite-friendly blazers:

J.Crew / J.Crew Factory – My top pick for overall fit. The sleeves are almost always a great length, which can be hard to find.

White House Black Market – Consistently good proportions with polished, work-friendly styles.

Banana Republic / Banana Republic Factory – A solid mix of classic and modern styles, often with good petite options.

Ann Taylor (and LOFT) – Worth trying, but the sleeve length can be hit or miss. I’ve found some that run long, but others fit well.

Kohl’s – A smaller selection, but you can occasionally find a well-priced petite blazer that works.
