Finding a leather jacket that fits a petite frame is no small feat. Sleeves are often way too long, the shoulders overwhelm, or the body feels boxy.

I recently tried the Motorcycle Jacket from Quince, and found it’s an overall good fit for petites.

This jacket is 100% leather, high quality, and petite-friendly—even though it isn’t sold in petite sizing. The style runs small, so the XS fit me perfectly. The sleeves just barely touch my hands, which is the shortest sleeve length I’ve found in a leather jacket in recent years. The leather is soft, the sleeves aren’t too stiff or narrow, and it’s roomy enough to layer sweaters underneath. I’m wearing it in dark cognac brown, but it comes in six color options.

Here are three ways I’m styling it for fall.

3 Petite-Friendly Ways to Style a Leather Jacket for Fall

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

With a Sweater Dress

For this look, I layered the jacket over the Eco Knit Sweater Dress I styled last week. The dress has a slim, body-skimming fit (I’m in an XS), but it’s stretchy and comfortable to wear.

I finished the outfit with knee-high boots and a cognac trapeze bag to tie the tones together.

With Wide Leg Jeans

If you’re into wide leg denim, the jacket works perfectly with the Bella Wide Leg Jeans. I layered a cotton cashmere long-sleeve top under the jacket and finished the look with boots.

The jeans are true to size, have a bit of stretch, and come in inseam options. I’m wearing the 28″ inseam, which works nicely with a heeled boot on my frame. The proportions feel modern and balanced against the structured leather jacket.

With Straight Leg Jeans

For a more classic look, I paired the jacket with the Bella Straight Jeans. These jeans have the same high rise as the wide legs, but with a straight, timeless cut. I’m wearing the 26″ inseam, which hits perfectly with boots tucked underneath.

I kept the base all black—top and jeans—and let the cognac leather jacket, bag, and boots pop as the statement pieces.
