Petite-Friendly Spring Event Dresses
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
*Measurements are taken from the size I’m wearing and may increase in length as sizing goes up.

WAYF Selene Dress
I found the WAYF Selene Dress at Nordstrom. While it isn’t offered in petite sizing, it fits well overall. In XS, the dress measures 50″ from shoulder to hem. It does cling to my hips and hikes up slightly at my midsection, which is worth noting if you have a similar shape. If you’re narrower than I am, the dress may fit longer on your frame.
The dress is fully lined with a mesh overlay and features a unique ruched design through the midsection and hips. I love the long sleeves and that you can comfortably wear a regular bra with it. The rose color is a beautiful soft option, though it’s available in multiple colors. Overall, I find this dress to be true to size with a bit of stretch, making it forgiving if you’re between sizes.

ASTR Lianna Dress
ASTR is one of my go-to brands for event dresses. While their styles aren’t offered in petite sizing, they often run small, feature adjustable details, and their midi dresses tend to work as a great maxi length on me.
The Lianna Dress is fully lined and features sewn-in cups, a back-zip closure, and smocking at the back for added stretch. The adjustable straps make a big difference in achieving the right fit. In XS, the dress measures 45″ from chest to hem (strap length not included since it’s adjustable). Aside from the small smocked panel in the back, the fabric has no stretch, so if you’re between sizes, I recommend sizing up. The bust also runs small, which is worth noting.

Nordstrom Ruched Dress
This dress from Nordstrom is elevated enough for an event but versatile enough to wear to work as well. It’s made from a soft, stretchy knit that feels substantial and provides a supportive, smoothing fit. I love the ruching across the midsection—it’s especially flattering and leads into a draped neckline that gives the dress a polished look. I’m wearing it in XXS here, and it fits me well. From shoulder to hem, the dress measures 44″.
