I’m back with another pair of pants I found at Banana Republic that are perfect for winter workwear. In today’s post, I’m styling them four different ways to show how versatile they can be for the office.

Chocolate Brown Pants for Petites: Four Ways

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Mid-Rise Flare Stretch Wool-Blend Pant

These mid-rise pants are made from a warm wool blend with a great petite fit. In petite, they have a 9.25″ rise and a 28″ inseam, which I can comfortably wear with flats. I do find them to run small, so I recommend sizing up. The fabric has very little stretch, and because they’re an unlined wool blend, they may be irritating for those with sensitive skin.

Four Ways to Wear Chocolate Brown Pants to Work

For the first outfit, I styled a chocolate brown turtleneck to bring the brown tones up top and layered a buttoned cardigan over it. My exact cardigan is from Quince but is currently sold out, so I’ve linked a similar one from Gap.

The Bridgette Jacket from J.Crew has a perfect fit. In regular XXS, the sleeves are a great length and it hits right at my hips. I love the neutral houndstooth print and think it looks great worn open or fully closed.

The Madelyn blazer is a classic piece from my fall workwear capsule wardrobe. It’s true to size with proportions that work especially well for petites—the sleeves are just right, and the shoulders aren’t too wide. I also love how the slightly longer length balances out the flare of the pants.

Finally, I styled a deep red sweater to highlight the rich chocolate tone of the pants. On top, I added the Only Coat from Aritzia, which has an on-trend slouchy fit while still being well proportioned for petites in the short length.

Overall, these mid-rise wool-blend pants are a great option if you’re looking for polished winter workwear that actually works for a petite frame. The shorter inseam makes them easy to wear with flats, while the tailored look pairs well with sweaters, blazers, and layered tops. I’ll continue sharing more petite-friendly winter workwear throughout the season, so stay tuned for more outfit ideas and fit notes.
