Whenever a season change gets close, the weather here in Virginia gets cray. Our August has had cool days, cool mornings, blazing hot days and disgusting humid days so far. This craziness will probably last well into October. When the crazy weather hits, the thing I end up wearing the most, is a cardigan. I’ve always been a cardigan girl. I tend to be cold, all of the time, especially in air conditioned spaces, so I carry a cardigan, you can imagine, I’ve seen my fair share of cardigans. When you find something special, you have to share it, so I give you…the best cardigan for summer to fall.

The Best Cardigan For Summer To Fall

This Halogen cardigan was a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale score. However, I also have a linen version that I purchased pre-sale, and you better believe I’m going to buy more of these cardigans. This cardigan is so soft and launders well! I know sweaters can sometimes be a hot mess after one wash, but this one held up! My only complaint, I must have brushed up against something with my booty, in it, because right around one of the hips, it has pilled a little. No where else, so I’m going to assume I snagged it?! I don’t know, it’s a mystery and one that made me pretty sad. However, did you know you can shave pilled sweaters? So I did that, and the problem was solved! It runs large, I’m wearing a petite xxs.

Long Cardigan and how to wear it

Where To Wear The Halogen Cardigan

I wore this outfit on a particularly cool day here, so don’t get all hot and bothered just yet. Underneath I’m wearing a light tank top , which my husband likes to make fun of. I personally love the ruffled collar, he thinks I look like Dr. Evil…the reason I don’t take fashion advice from my husband. The shoes are another Nsale find. I originally ordered the pewter pair and loved them! After seeing the blush version on Living In Yellow, I decided I needed those too (and maybe everything else in her closet). These flats are comfortable right out of the box, which is hard to find. The only complaint I have, which is the same with all pointed toe shoes, I can’t keep from dragging my feet and scuffing the front! I already have a scuff on the front of these, ugh! Moving on, since we’re talking sale finds, I also picked up this bag during the Nsale. It’s faux leather and pretty darn affordable, and I love it! I love my Chelsea28 scalloped tote I carried this summer, but wanted a fall version. I used to be all about a cross body bag, but since enjoying all that I can carry in a big tote (including my jumbo lilly planner) I’m a tote girl now. The tote sold out in this color but is still available in black and a similar one can be found here.

I’ve worn this cardigan so much since it arrived on my doorstep, like I’m not ashamed to admit. What is your favorite clothing item currently?
