Fall Capsule Wardrobe 2026: Ways to Wear Wide Leg Jeans

Dark Wash Jeans Petite 24 J.Crew Factory 

I considered a few different options for the dark wash jeans in this capsule, including the Bella Wide Leg, Bella Relaxed Straight, and Madewell Perfect Vintage Wide Leg Jeans. I ultimately chose this classic wide-leg pair from J.Crew Factory because I preferred the overall fit. They’re a new-to-me style, while the others are styles I’ve worn for the last year or so. I’ll have another post coming soon with a more detailed fit comparison of all of these options. In petite sizing, the J.Crew Factory jeans have a 10.5″ rise and a 28″ inseam. They fit me well through the hips and tops of my thighs before opening into a fairly generous wide leg. If you need a shorter inseam, the Bella Relaxed Straight Jeans from Quince are available with a 26″ inseam and could easily be swapped into any of these outfits. Fabric: 85% cotton/14% polyester/1% elastane

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
