You could wear the shorts in today’s post for a workout, but for me, they’re a perfect pair of shorts for the beach, a theme park, or a walk. Ideal for summer adventures! Both pairs are breathable, quick-drying, and petite-friendly. In today’s post, I’m sharing three ways I plan to wear them.

Quick Drying Activewear Shorts
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Athleta Midday Mid Rise Shorts
The Midday Mid Rise Shorts are a great pair of shorts for wearing by the water. Maybe over a bathing suit, or out on the boat if you’re into boating/fishing. They are quick drying and UPF 40+ and the fabric is light and breathable. They’re what I would consider “swishy.” I chose a soft neutral green and white colorway (that isn’t see-through), but they also come in five other colors. I find the shorts to be true to size. They have a 3.25″ inseam and in XXS they fit me well but have a little bit of breathing room. I styled them casually and with sneakers in the post.

I would wear the outfit with sneakers out on a walk or at theme park. They’re perfect for lots of walking and hot weather! I paired them with a tank top I found at Old Navy with a great fit. It comes in petite, but I went with regular sizing for extra length.

Vuori Birch Shorts
I want these shorts in every color! They have a 3″ inseam and a balanced fit that is roomy but not too loose. I’m wearing them in XXS and love the fit. If you’re in between sizes, you could go up a size. These shorts are also quick-drying and would be great for adventuring, having fun at a theme park, or wearing over a bathing suit. I wore them with a cropped tank top here. I love the cropped tank and the ability to wear it untucked but still show off the shorts. However, I don’t want my midsection to show with movement and sitting so I layer it over a lightweight racerback tank top. A camisole would also work here.
