How to Style Corduroy Pants: Simple Fall Outfits for Petites

Corduroy pants are a great option for fall. They have a cozy texture that feels just right for the season, and they’re easy to style with simple sweaters, cardigans, and other fall staples. They’re also a great alternative to jeans when you want something a little different without sacrificing comfort.

In today’s post, I’m sharing a few simple ways to style corduroy pants for everyday fall outfits. These are the kinds of outfits I love for casual days, but they would also be perfect for a relaxed Thanksgiving gathering. I’m styling two different pairs of wide-leg corduroy pants, both of which have a comfortable fit and work well on my petite frame.

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Banana Republic Factory Corduroy Pants

I included these corduroy pants from Banana Republic Factory in my fall capsule wardrobe, and they’ve become one of my favorite pairs for the season. When I was putting together the capsule, I tried several different styles of corduroy pants and ultimately chose these because of their comfortable fit.

They’re made from a soft, medium-weight corduroy with a little stretch. What I especially appreciate is the fit through the hips and thighs. As someone with a pear-shaped figure, I often find pants that fit well at the waist but feel too snug through the hips. These have a comfortable fit without feeling tight or restrictive.

Kut from the Kloth Jean Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants

The second pair I’m styling is the Jean Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants from Kut from the Kloth. I reviewed these in a previous post, and they’re another great option if you’re looking for a petite-friendly pair of corduroy pants.

These are a high-rise, wide-leg style made from a soft, medium-weight corduroy. They have a comfortable amount of stretch, but the fabric still has enough structure to hold its shape with wear. However, I would suggest sizing down to accommodate the stretch fabric.

I’m wearing them in 00 Petite, and they have a 10.25″ rise and a 28.25″ inseam. The leg opening measures 21″, giving them a relaxed wide-leg shape.
