One of my favorite times to wear dresses is the beginning of fall. The temperatures are still warm enough for bare legs and lightweight fabrics, but rich colors and autumn-inspired prints start making their way into our wardrobes. Boden Marla Seamed Ottoman Dress in Gingerbread
If you’re shopping Boden this season, this is one I’d recommend grabbing sooner rather than later. It’s the kind of dress that tends to sell out quickly, and it’s easy to see why.
I’m wearing the Petite 0, and the proportions are excellent for my 4’10” frame. The ottoman knit fabric has more structure than a traditional jersey, giving the dress a polished look while still feeling soft and stretchy. It’s an easy pull-on style that’s incredibly comfortable to wear.
The seamed silhouette is flattering without feeling restrictive, and the skirt includes one of my favorite details—pockets.

I’m wearing Petite 0, and it fits true to size. The jersey fabric is incredibly soft and stretchy, making it one of those dresses you’ll want to wear all day.
Although it’s unlined, the fabric isn’t sheer and doesn’t wrinkle easily. I love the beautiful fall-ready print.
Gap Scoop Neck Lace-Trim Mini Dress
If you’re looking for a true mini dress with petite-friendly proportions, this Gap option is a great find.
I’m wearing Petite XS, and it fits true to size. The dress is made from 100% cotton and is fully lined. I especially like the adjustable cinched neckline for adjusting the fit at the neck. Come fall when the temperatures drop this dress will look great with boots and a jacket or cardigan.
Target Boho Midi Dress
Of course, the fit at Target is mixed, but I find great options from time to time – like this dress!
I’m wearing XS, and although it isn’t technically petite sizing, it fits my frame surprisingly well. It has a stretch neckline and fits well at the arm openings.
It’s also 100% cotton, which I appreciate. The skirt also includes pockets, and although the dress is unlined, but it’s not sheer.
