Dress season is almost here — and I’m counting down to all the easy, one-and-done outfits that come with it. There’s nothing simpler than throwing on a cute dress and being instantly put together.
In today’s post, I’m sharing four cotton-blend dresses that are perfect for spring outfits, from everyday wear to spring special occasions. These styles are lightweight, comfortable, and easy to dress up or down all season long.

Four Spring Day Dresses for Petites
My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.
Old Navy Puff Sleeve Smocked Fit and Flare Dress
This mini dress is a great length for petites and fits true to size. The smocked bodice has plenty of stretch for a comfortable, flexible fit, and the skirt features pockets (always a win).
It’s unlined, so I recommend wearing a slip underneath to prevent any sheerness. Made from 100% cotton, it will naturally wrinkle with wear and may shrink in the wash. To help preserve the fit and length, I suggest hanging it to dry. This dress is currently under $20, making it a great value.
*The shoes I’m wearing in this post are tight on my toes. I need to see if they will stretch with wear.

Gap Lace Trim Mini Dress
Made from 100% cotton and full of sweet details, this lace-trim mini dress is such a pretty option for spring. It fits true to size — I’m wearing it in Petite XS.
The dress features 3/4-length sleeves, a functional drawstring waist, and functional buttons at the chest. It’s fully lined with an adjustable camisole lining for added coverage and flexibility. While the skirt doesn’t have pockets, I find the proportions to be especially petite-friendly, making it a great choice for transitional spring outfits.

J.Crew Factory Tie-Sleeve Midi Dress
I love the balanced sleeves on this midi dress from J.Crew Factory — they have just the right amount of puff without feeling overdone. The tiered skirt adds movement, and it has side pockets (always a plus). There’s comfortable stretch at the waist and in the sleeves, which makes it easy to wear all day.
The dress features a button closure at the back and is unlined, but not sheer. It’s made from 98% cotton with 2% elastane, giving it structure with a bit of stretch for added comfort. It is true to size.

J.Crew Factory Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress
I’m rounding out this spring dress roundup with another cotton midi dress from J.Crew Factory. This one features a pretty pink floral print, side pockets, and ruffle straps that are bra-friendly. The straps aren’t adjustable, but I find they fit well.
There’s comfortable stretch at the back of the bodice for flexibility. The top is lined, while the skirt is unlined, though not overly sheer. Made from 98% cotton with 2% elastane, it has structure with a bit of stretch. I find it fits true to size — for reference, I’m wearing it in Petite 00.
