I’ve received so many requests to create a work travel capsule wardrobe, and I’m finally delivering. This mini capsule includes 10 versatile pieces — all from White House Black Market — that mix and match seamlessly for business trips.

Each piece can be dressed up or down for meetings, presentations, and client dinners, making it easy to create a full week of polished outfits from a compact, carry-on-friendly wardrobe.

To help you get started, I styled 11 outfit ideas using the capsule pieces. I also mixed in different color combinations so you can customize the capsule to your personal style — or simplify it even further by sticking to one cohesive color palette.

Petite Work Travel Capsule Wardrobe: 10 Pieces for Business Trips

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Pleated Wide-Leg Pants

The Pleated Wide-Leg Pants are a standout piece in both style and color. Because they make more of a statement, you may choose to wear them just once during a week-long work trip. I styled them a few different ways so you can pick your favorite look — or save the ideas for future outfits.

These wide-leg trousers have a fluid, drapey silhouette in a rich deep cognac shade that pairs beautifully with neutrals. I’m wearing them in 00 Short. They feature a 10″ rise and a 29″ inseam, which works best on my 4’10” frame with heels for a full-length look.

Piper High Rise Flare Pant

The Piper High Rise Flare Pants are a classic slim flare — a style I’m often asked to share, especially by readers who prefer a more fitted silhouette. While I haven’t worn this cut much recently, it’s a timeless option for a polished work travel wardrobe.

These black flare pants have comfortable full stretch, and are neutral black, making them easy to wear multiple times on a business trip. In petite sizing, they feature a 10″ rise and a 29″ inseam, which works best for me with a heel for proper length.

If you’re looking to expand this work travel capsule wardrobe, I’d also recommend adding these ankle straight pants in Pumice. The light neutral tone pairs perfectly with the coordinating blazer and vest for even more mix-and-match outfit options.

3 Tops

FORME Tops in Pumice and Black

I kept the tops simple and selected two sleeveless FORME styles in Pumice and Black. I love the FORME tops from White House Black Market for a work travel capsule because they have a sleek, streamlined fit that tucks in smoothly without adding bulk.

They’re not sheer or see-through, making them ideal as polished base layers under blazers and vests. I’m wearing them in XXS and find they fit true to size.

Flutter Sleeve Satin Shirt

It’s always nice to include a printed top in a capsule wardrobe to add a little visual interest. I chose a satin blouse in a print that pulls from the colors of the pants in this capsule, helping everything feel cohesive and easy to mix and match. It would also pair beautifully with the ankle pants I mentioned above for even more outfit options.

I’m wearing the top in XXS and find it fits true to size.

2 Dresses

I included two dresses in this work travel capsule for their versatility and ease. They can be dressed up for dinner or instantly made more polished for meetings with the addition of a blazer, making them effortless, packable options for a business trip.

Ponte Sheath Dress

The Ponte Sheath Dress is such an elegant piece for a work travel capsule. It fits true to size, is double-lined, and is surprisingly soft and stretchy for a structured style. The fabric isn’t see-through, but as with most white or ivory sheath dresses — especially in a more fitted silhouette — I recommend nude undergarments. I would also add a pair of shaping shorts underneath for a smooth finish.

I’m wearing it in Petite 00. It looks polished on its own for dinner or presentations, and layers beautifully under a blazer for a more traditional meeting-ready outfit.

Satin Shirt Dress

This printed dress is made from a silky satin fabric in a classic black-and-white neutral print. It features a timeless shirt dress silhouette with a collar, fully functional buttons, and a coordinating fabric belt for definition at the waist. The dress is fully lined and fits true to size.

It’s an easy piece to wear on its own for dinner or presentations, or layered under a blazer for a more structured, office-ready look. You can also swap the fabric belt for a leather belt to change up the styling and add a bit more contrast.

3 Top Layers

Cropped One Button Blazer

A cropped blazer is another frequent request I receive, especially from my petite readers. With longer, oversized blazers trending in recent years, cropped styles have been harder to find — which makes this one such a great option.

I love the soft stretch fabric and the light neutral color, both of which make it easy to layer throughout a work travel capsule wardrobe. In Petite 00, the fit is true to size with well-proportioned sleeves and a length that works beautifully on a shorter frame. If i was only going to choose once blazer for this capsule, I would pick this one.

Ponte Blazer

If black is your go-to neutral, this soft ponte blazer is a great addition to your work travel capsule wardrobe. It features the same cropped silhouette as the one-button blazer, along with comfortable stretch fabric that makes it easy to wear all day.

In Petite 00, it fits true to size with proportions that work especially well on a shorter frame.

Surplice Longline Vest

This vest is made from the same soft stretch fabric as the one-button blazer in the light neutral Pumice, making it an easy addition to this work travel capsule wardrobe. I love the variety a vest brings to a business travel wardrobe — it adds structure without the bulk of a full blazer. If you prefer sleeves, you can also layer a vest over a top with sleeves.

It fits true to size and features a wrap-style design with an interior button and a single front button for a clean, tailored look. Because of the construction, it’s designed to be worn closed.

Whether you’re looking for a few outfit ideas for your next work trip or a mini capsule for the season ahead I hope this post gives you a few ideas.
