One Week of Outfits for Work with Skirts and Dresses

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Monday

A corduroy dress with a great length for work. I’m wearing this dress in standard sizing for a little extra length, but it also comes in petite if you prefer a shorter fit. It’s comfortable to wear and has a full zipper closure from top to bottom. The dress is unlined but not sheer and has pockets on the skirt. For work, you can pair it with ballet flats or loafers and add a sweater over your shoulders or a blazer for an extra layer.

Tuesday

I found this printed corduroy skirt at LOFT and love it! It’s a perfect fit with a modest length, and the print is so sweet. I paired it with a cashmere cardigan from Quince, tucked in to define the waist, and ballet flats. The skirt runs true to size, and I’m wearing it in Petite 00.

Wednesday

This plaid skirt from J.Crew Factory is one that’s easy to dress up for work or wear more casually. I’m wearing it in size 00, and it fits me well overall with a little extra room at the waist. I don’t mind the extra room since it fits me well through the hips. For this outfit, I paired the skirt with chocolate brown flats and a matching draped top.

For the cooler days ahead, I added a J.Crew trench coat. I’m wearing the Icon Trench, which was recently updated from its classic slim, shorter fit to a more oversized, modern silhouette. In my true size, the trench fits me well through the shoulders and sleeves but is roomy through the body.

Thursday

One more skirt outfit for the week! I went with a pleated skirt from Amazon that you’ve seen many times on this blog. The skirt is fully lined with a comfortable stretch waistband. An XS would be the best fit for me, but it’s often out of stock, so I wear the skirt in a size small and find it still fits comfortably.

The sweater is from LOFT and has a similar floral print to the corduroy skirt I shared above. It’s well proportioned for petites with a flattering neckline that isn’t too low-cut. It runs true to size, and I’m wearing it in Petite XXS.

Friday

For a fun Friday outfit, I chose a black dress from Anthropologie. It’s a mixed-media style with a sweater-knit top and a structured cotton poplin skirt. I’m wearing it in Petite XXS, and it fits me well. I added a sweater over my shoulders here, but you could also layer it with a cardigan or blazer for work.
