Wide leg pants are a great option to wear to work, and there are more petite options available now than ever before. I recently shared a review of four different pairs of wide leg trousers for petites, but all of those styles had pleats. Since then, I’ve received several requests for wide leg pants with a clean, flat front and no pleats.

So, today I’m rounding up three of my favorite flat front wide leg pants for petites. These styles range from classic work trousers to comfortable ponte pants, and each pair comes in petite sizing with proportions that work well on my 4’10” frame. As always, I’ll include my sizing along with the rise and inseam measurements to help you compare the fit.

3 Flat Front Wide Leg Pants for Petites

My Sizing: I’m 4’10”, and my bust, waist, and hip measurements are 32″, 24″, and 36″. My inseam is 25″ (the measurement from the inside of my leg to my ankle bone). The clothes shown are unaltered and show how they fit me right from the store. I list my sizing beside each item to help you compare when shopping online. When referencing my true size, that is often the smallest option available at a brand or petite xxs/00/24. I wear a size 5 shoe.

Ann Taylor Petite Perfect Wide-Leg Pants

The Petite Perfect Wide-Leg Pants from Ann Taylor have been one of my favorite pairs of wide leg work pants for years. I’ve styled them in several capsule wardrobes across different seasons because they’re simple, classic, and easy to pair with just about anything.

In petite sizing, these pants have a 10″ rise and 28.5″ inseam. They come in both standard and curvy fits, and I prefer the curvy fit for my pear-shaped frame. In the standard fit, I find them to be slim across my hips and the tops of my thighs, while the curvy version gives me a little more room where I need it.

These have a slim wide-leg silhouette rather than an extra-full leg, which makes them especially easy to wear on a petite frame. The 28.5″ inseam works best for me with a low heel.

I also love the clean flat front. There are no pleats adding extra volume through the hip area, giving them a streamlined look that works especially well for the office. They’re machine washable, easy to care for, and versatile enough to wear year-round.

LOFT Sawyer Crepe Wide Leg Pants

The Sawyer Pants from LOFT are a relaxed, pull-on wide leg style that LOFT releases in different fabrics throughout the year. I’ve tried several versions, and while I find that the fit can vary slightly from one fabric to another, overall the fit is excellent.

This crepe version has a 10.5″ rise and 28″ inseam in petite sizing. I’m wearing them in Petite XXS, and if you’re between sizes, I recommend going down a size.

The 28″ inseam is long on me since it’s a wide, relaxed style, so I need to wear this pair with a heel. If you prefer to wear your wide-leg pants with flats, you may need to have them hemmed, depending on your height and proportions.

The flat front and pull-on waistband give these pants a clean look without pleats, while the relaxed wide leg gives them a little more movement than the Ann Taylor pair. They’re made from a crepe fabric that isn’t prone to wrinkling, making them a great option for work, travel, or long days at the office.

If you like the look of the Aritzia Lodge Pants but need petite sizing, I think the Sawyer Pants are a great alternative.

Banana Republic Factory Wide Leg Ponte Pants

The Wide Leg Ponte Pants from Banana Republic Factory have quickly become a favorite of mine.

In petite sizing, they have a 10″ rise and 27.5″ inseam, making them the shortest pair of wide leg pants in this roundup.

The ponte fabric is very soft and stretchy, but I don’t find it to cling anywhere. Instead, the pants fall smoothly from the hips into a clean wide leg. The flat front also keeps the overall silhouette streamlined.

They’re machine washable, and the ponte fabric isn’t prone to wrinkling, so they’re a great low-maintenance option for a work wardrobe.

If you’re looking for comfortable wide leg work pants for petites, this pair would be my pick of the three for the best combination of comfort, easy care, and petite-friendly length.
